I don't know about all this game manager, elite qb crap of recent years hes a freaking great qb his problem is he holds on the ball too long to make the big espn nfl network highlight play instead of trying to make drives, use the rb play action a damn screen to rb every once in awhile then the bomb, thats why he loved arians just go deep all the time and every one here was excited about Haley we thought it would be more like Warner in Arizona but Ben is Ben lets make a play every down make are crappy line look worse than it is, there is no consistency like Brady

too be realistic there is blame everywhere. Ben had a few mistakes that hurt the team. The defense definitely has to own this one though. Most yards allowed EVER!

    Yep.
Probably not new though. Probably one of the usual suspects who created a different account specifically to stir the pot.

You think Ben holds on to the ball to make the highlight reel? Seriously? The guy is doing what he thinks he needs to do to win the game.

Saying everyone was excited to see Haley come here is a joke.

The Steelers might need to hire him as a coach, since it looks like he can plan ahead based on his account creation date. :lolol:

Nah, it's not a sock puppet. Probably just a Steelers fan who lurked all this time until he got so frustrated with the team that he couldn't keep it in any longer, and waited until tonight to vent.

Ben needs an offensive line. He's been making due for years now and it's to a point now that he can't do it any more. Any other quarterback in this league would be killed by now and gave up even more sacks.

This offensive line of Beachum, Foster, Velesco, Whimper and Gilbert probably wouldn't start anywhere.

We lose Roethlisberger and this board will get a reality check.

We were in the dance and won two w/ our previous offense,

but Nooooooooooo... we had to change it.

Ben has won shootouts in his career. He actually won one against Aaron Rodgers at Heinz in 09 with a beautiful last second game winning pass to Mike Wallace.

It isn't holding on to the ball. He never calls for the snap till 2 or 1 second on the play clock. The D's know when the snap is. Every good play he had today was with 7 or more seconds left on the play clock

A turn over machine, but our only tradeable commodity. As most of you can see from watching the Steelers, that they are a lot of football players away from being a playoff competitive football team.
So if you are the Rooney's what do you do? Are you going to pay him 25 mill per to go with the 5 win talent around him?

Yeah Ben is a superstar. They should waive the five year waiting rule and put him in the Hall of Fame right now. It doesn't matter that since 2010 he's been a mediocre QB. He is Big Ben for gosh sacks!

I don't agree with what the OP says, but Steelers history tends to show that the thread's title might not be all that far off.

Guards are silent call spotters. He's telling the center when to snap it.

Maybe not against Brady, but four TDs and 400 yards is an awfully good go at it...

I don't think Ben is THE problem, but to say he doesn't contribute may be lacking in objectivity. Ben is not solely responsible for the fact that he gets hit every other throw, but he plays like he doesn't want to get hit either. The INT from the EZ was off an off-balance throw because he thought he was going to get hit, but he didn't get hit.

I think it is pretty obvious that you don't put all the blame on you QB, but the QB holds some of the blame. I think the interesting thing I have seen over the last 15 games or so, is that there is not one area of the game we can always count on. This week the D was horrible. Last week, the D made a mistake on the first play, but in the 2nd half rocked. The offense couldn't get into the endzone though and special teams let us down with the missed FGs. It seems like week to week it is always something else.

Can we write this off as most uninformed comment of the year. If there is one thing Ben is not, it's being a game manager, I actually wish he was a better game manager. Ben is flat out a gunslinger - sometimes that gunslinging yields amazing results and sometimes it delivers a lot of turnovers and an offense that has a hard time getting into rhythm.

I like Ben and am thankful for what he has given the franchise, but it is hard to build an offense around his style. But the guy is so talented that there is no way the Steelers are not going to try to ride his abilities for longer in hopes things fall into place.
