They gave him his release papers and he just took that long to get them set in his hands properly.

Guess Tomlin isn't a fan of photo bombs.

Damn good question, especially since Tomlin got rid of Mesko for being "inconsistant". Hell, that could apply to most of the team as well as the coaches.

Punters are probably a hell of a lot easier to replace than most other positions.

Why does this team always try retreads in the kicking game? What about all of those college kickers that didn't land on a team. Why not do a big ol' tryout and see who's best? What could it hurt?

We drafted a punter in the fourth round a few years ago.

Well, I'd be surprised if a team brought in a UDFA punter in the middle of the season, when there were veterans to pick from. Any team, any season. Well, the Browns wouldn't surprise me.

So glad we wasted a 4th round pick on Sepulveda. Haven't had any consistency at this position for about a decade or more.:goofy:

McBriar's numbers the last two years look a lot like Mesko's and both look marginally worse than Butler's.

No crap! He was inconsistant as well, but he'd hit a long one every now and then. I don't understand his injury issue.

I would brought back Butler also, there can't be much difference between Butler and the guy they signed. And Butler held for our field goal kicker before. I think Tomlin is just being stubborn withn Butler and don't want to admit again that he screwed up again like he did with Drwyer.

The powers above simply amaze me. Let's cut our punter averaging 36.7 and sign an older punter averaging 37.1. Yeah, we are typically losing games by less than a yard.

all those pining after butler? Sheesh already, his numbers aren't any better, or marginally at best. Heck kapinos had better numbers than butler.

and quite frankly, the small differences in our net punting can probably also be explained by poor special teams play.

punting is not the reason we are losing games.

I have asked this question multiple times. No idea why someone thought this guy was an upgrade over the punter we already had on the roster. I would love to know whose idea that was.

just because a guy can kick it far doesn't always mean he's the best. we need a guy that can kick high. a guy that can kick far when needed. a guy that can directional punt when that's needed. out kicking the coverage can have bad effects.

with butler we never knew which one we would get at which time. that's why he's not here.

our other punter in camp had hang time and a good directional game but couldn't kick far when needed.

where is bobby walden when you need him, right? LOL
