I have seen a lot of posts about the lack of being able to evaluate talent. while I agree some of the players they have drafted are not players I looked at. I am not a scout. wonder who people think we have missed on in the past few seasons. ziggy is a disappointment but who else. late round picks are a crap shoot anyway. mendy was a good back but I think his durability and off the field stuff hurt him. would like to see who you think we missed on.

I don't think we've missed on the talent. I think the coaching is letting the talent down.

oh I agree. it just seems people think that we suck at drafting players and evaluating talent now. Colbert has done a good job I think. I am of the thinking players play and coaches coach. I think these players are alittle selfish right now. they need to be kicked in the butt. I think tomlin has tried to get their attention by letting some go and benching some. its not like he has a lot of choice though. he still has to come up with enough to play

I agree, since 2008 I think the drafts have been pretty good, I think this years could turn out to be great.

Wait a minute, you guys think Adams,Gilbert Hood, Heyward are good draft choices? These guys
will NEVER make a difference. They were all drafted in round 1 or 2. C'mon man. You guys are killing me.I am going to give Heyward the benefit of the doubt, only because he is Ironhead's kid. These guys STINK!

Except for Gilbert, yes. I think Heyward will keep getting better and I don't how anyone gives up on Adams so soon especially with what he has been through so far in his short career. I don't think Hood is as bad as everyone thinks but understand that people expect more considering the round he was taken.

what do you expect a de in lebeaus system to do? he will never put up big numbers. as far as adams, I bet you weren't saying that on draft day.

I think we have mostly sucked at evaluating linemen. I never liked Mendy but it was always more of a personal thing for me. I like Pouncey, Woodley, Timmons, and AB probably the most. I'm disappointed in Heyward and Ziggy isn't anything to write home about either. I honestly think though that when those guys were drafted Tomlin was thinking that Lebeau was gonna be done soon and he could implement his 4-3 which I think he will do. I think that's why it might not be all that fair to come down on those guys because they aren't made for the system they are in right? Timmons wasn't 3-4 either though and I honestly just think Timmons has been solid but never anything absolutely great. I would actually like to know which guys have been more successful in this system. Guys drafted from 3-4 programs or 4-3 programs.

It seems the team doesn't know what to do with Adams ya know? Yesterday they were using him only on special packages. I wonder if he'll be around in a few years. What do you think? I really don't know but I'd be surprised probably.

I never wanted the dope smoker, I hate Ohio State players!
all hype no action when they actually have to play on the big stage. This may change under Urban,he has seen in the SEC what it takes to play with the
the big boys.Of course all the cheating they will be doing will
    be overlooked too.

I'm with you Wardismvp, I don't see what everyone is talking about when they the drafts were pretty good. In short our drafts have stunk the past 3 to 4 years. Sometimes I think we are watching different teams with different players.

But I also don't give a pass to the coaching or the coaching philosophy.

Or it could be both. Scouting department not doing well in evaluating high quality starters in the early rounds will set a team back a few years. Colbert runs that operation. Players not improving much and even digress when they get here. Tomlin runs that operation. Players underachieving; Lack of leadership in the locker room.

You can blame the players here, but it's the FO and coaching that has allowed this happen.

Josh Miller for what its worth is on this show. They are REALLY down on this class, especially the QB pick. With so many other needs
    you have to wonder?

I wouldn't have chosen Landry Jones, but have any of these "experts" watched Ben run lately?

Do you think Belichick would be 2-5 with the talent on our team? What about Sean Peyton? Jim Harbaugh?

I have said this before and Wolfe and Coach Tom Bradley was saying the exact thing today....Ziggy is a 4-3 guy.... maybe if he beefed up, maybe he could be a 3-4 NT, but overall he doesn't fit this scheme. He is better suited in a 4-3. Actually I think he would really thrive in a 4-3.

Stan Savran on the radio was talking about how we passed on Sean Lee in the draft for Worlids...gosh Lee would have been the perfect replacement for Farrior.

I'm not totally worried about Jarvis yet...he is reminding me of Troy's first year where you see the talent, but the light bulb hasn't gone off yet. We just got to hope his confidence stays high. If he is doing the same stuff next year then I would be worried.

The only thing that's worrying me about Jarvis Jones is that he's not getting anywhere close to the quarterback. He's been in on many obvious passing downs and has failed to apply pressure. He's getting manhandled by one blocker. With all of the snaps he's played this year you would think he'd HAVE AT LEAST ONE SACK! He has zero which has me a little concerned.

Posted this before about Jarvis, if you watch him close, he engages with the lineman and stops to look into the backfield. I think he is playing unsure of himself and not sure what to do. He is thinking too much and not playing at full speed. Until he gets over this he will not have any sacks. He was actually playing better in preseason when he was playing only with natural instincts.
