There are some Larry Fitzgerald trade rumors floating....even as an aging superstar with some hamstring issues..he is exactly what this team needs.

What would you give up....if anything....for him?

Due to his contract numbers....a lot of creative cap moves for both the Cards and his new team would need to be made (like they did for the Lomas Brown trade)

So lets not even get into that at this time.

    I think I would trade Manny Sanders....a 2014 #2 and a 2015 conditional...that could be as high as a #2

BA gets first shot at his boy Manny....and draft picks....Steelers sacrifice some picks....but give Ben the target he needs...a guy who goes and gets the ball....which should also open up Brown more on the other side.....

Yes its just a pipe dream...yes how could we afford it...yes ...yes...yes.....

But man is it the playmaker they need....on that note I would trade the next 3 years of #1s for Megatron.

If the Steelers were a player or two away from seriously contending, I'd say suggest grabbing him. But the Steelers need a whole influx of good, young talent. They should be shedding old, expensive vets, not taking them on.

Basically this. A couple years ago- make it happen. Now- find a young stud who won't break the team financially. As a GM you really have to suspect that Fitz isn't the Fitz from yesteryear. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Larry Fitzgerald, but I think the cost is too high at this point.

obviously the $...thats why I said it ....but you have to think the first thing they would do is restructure...Fitz is due like 14 mill next season....

So you move the money around...extend it out...and everyone including Fitz knows he never sees most of it at the end...because thats just how the NFL works....the numbers are more so his agent and he save face.... FITZ SIGNS 100 MILL 5 year extension with Steelers.... sounds good...makes all the news and headlines...till you read 90 mill of it is due in the last 2 years.

He is the type of WR this team is missing...and just adding him to the mix puts this team firmly in the hunt IMO.

I just want a possession receiver that would be our number 1 or 2 that we could always count on and could block really well. Oh yea kinda like a guy we use to have named Hines Ward.

I could jump on board with this in a heart beat. I don't know what it would take as far as picks go, but the salary would be the biggest struggle. Plus with Fitz's contract running through 2018 you still should get 2 really productive years and the then a couple of solid years.

Sorry to bust your bubble but NO receiver is going to put this team in the hunt so long as the O-Line continues it's woeful journey.
Megatron had 329 yards receiving yesterday. On our team he would be lucky to be at 150 total.

You're going to get a lot of "but it'll never happen" responses, despite saying you know.

I was thinking the same thing the other day, when I heard the rumors. My initial thought was offering Sanders, and picks 2 and 5 in the 2014 draft. Like you said, Bruce gets a receiver he's worked with, that despite not being able to hold Fitz's jock is probably faster and more of a deep threat than Fitz.

The front office needs to extend Ben to spread out some of the 18 million that's counting against the cap for the next two seasons. The front office goes to Ben and says something like... "Ben, we appreciate everything you've done for this franchise and we want to extend your contract to make sure you retire here. You said you wanted more rings than Bradshaw, and we want to make that happen, but it's clear that this roster isn't at that level right now, and with the cap strain we're under it's going to be hard to get there. We're interested in pairing you with Larry Fitzgerald. The big, physical receiver you've always wanted. To make it happen though, you'd both need to take less than your market value. The tradeoff is you both work so well together you're both easily first-ballot hall of famers when all is said and done. That's your call. Should you agree to it, we'd also like to ask you to help us recruit Larry."

That would give us a ridiculous amount of weapons for Ben. AB has played really well as really the only real threat at the position. Fitz, AB, Wheaton, Heath, Bell... Funny how quickly people forget, but Fitzgerald was absolutely dominant in the playoff run when we beat them in the Superbowl, being coached by Todd Haley. We use our first round pick to get a Taylor Lewan. We use our comp pick in the 3rd and late picks to fill in holes on defense like safety, and CB. Mike Adams moves to the right side. Pouncey moves to left guard and we re-sign Velasco to play center.

also it went unsaid...but Adams did pretty well back at LT when Beachum was moved to G.

I still think Adams is the best LT on the roster.

I'd do it for Sanders and a third.

Last week I make a deal because we DESPERATELY need someone for Ben to throw to in the red zone. However, after yesterday's loss we are truly done this year, and I am more into trading away players of the present to get players of the future - not the other way around. I am not sure how much Fitz has left in the tank for 2014 as compared to his paycheck.

The hunt for what? A win? Ok lets say this goes down. Does anyone think the way this lifeless team is playing that they could beat:

    New England
    Lions
    Ravens
    Bungals
    Green Bay

I didn't include the Clowns, Fish, the Bills. I would hope wins but...

Five losses already. Does anyone think that this team as it stand with or without Fitzgerald is only going to lose two more games? And would that even get a wildcard spot? I don't think so. The hole that is dug to me is to deep.

Not even close in my eyes. He played a less than half of the game and he's ok. But the first three games he was a hot mess. Beachum is by far the best LT on the roster.

first 3 games he gave up 4 sacks...and 3 were against Minn.

and as for Fitz being done...the same was said about Randy Moss when he went to NE...and the same was said about Boldin when the Ravens got him....both those guys carried their teams into the big dance.

Fitz isn't going to solve the problems we're having right now. I'd like to have him, but we need help on the O-line. We are either going to have to go get someone with some experience and leadership to anchor this o-line or coach up the guys we have when they get healthy.

Cardinals GM said in a radio interview Fitzgerald won't be traded they will probably restructure his contract in the offseason to lower his cap hit.

Nobody likes Fitz better than I do,Pitt man, rock star here in the Steel city but if you people think he could turn this team around it ain't going to happen. We have WAY to many problems on this team. Now I would put #7 on the block to see what offers arise.
Especially if the cap numbers don't rise dramatically.
