With any luck, it's now weighted towards interception-related pay. That way, we either save millions more in cap space, or actually get a turnover out of Ike.

I don't think they rewrote his contract, just how the money is paid out.

...or he gets let go for a cheaper alternative.

Once a vet starts having a huge backended contract the end is near.

This is not surprising. It's becoming obvious that Ike will be a valuable player beyond what his biological age indicates. If only he had hands....

With Ike's restructure, I wonder if we're getting ready to add someone else?

Well... I think it hinges on what Cortez Allen does the rest of this year.

End of last year, Cortez was poised coming into this season to be a potential star in the secondary for us.

If Cortez has a middle of the road season Ike gets resigned. If Cortez has a big second half of the year I think Ike gets let go.

i hope they reach an injury settlement agreement with levy brown , 600k to only travel to new york is too much

Well Gay is doing pretty well so far... We really haven't had a true #2 corner in awhile, I think Steelers are fine with having at least one solid #1 and then whoever else...

I don't understand all the "let's get rid of Ike posts" He goes one on one with the best wide receivers the league has to offer. There is no cb in the league where the best WR's don't catch balls against. Yes, he occasionally gets beat, but more often than not he doesn't. Better hands would be great, but that's not who he is and we all know that. If he could catch, he would have been a wr. Right now, we barely have anyone to play on the other side of the field, let alone replace him.
