just saw a story on the depot that Timmons broke his hand sunday.

this team just can stay healthy. Timmons was a monster in that game and he says the broken hand wont slow him down, but you still have to think it will have an affect on him some how.

I'd hate to be the O lineman that gets in his way if he can play!

    Why?

It may cause him to drop an interception. Other than that, how would it really slow him down?

we seriously need to start a betting pool on who will be injured and what injury it is. Every week someone will win, guaranteed...

Tomlin just confirmed he has a broken left hand. He said he has full mobility in his fingers, and it won't keep him out. It happened in the late 3rd/early 4th Q in the Ravens game and he was able to finish the game.

I was going to say maybe that is why the brought back Kion Wilson (is that his name?) but looks like Timmons will be fine to play....

It's not just the Steelers. The Packers are also having their fair share of injuries (some serious). It has always been a part of the game, but it sure seems to me that the injuries are becoming more and more commonplace. The Super Bowl champion is likely going to be the team that lucks out and has fewer injuries than most other teams.

This probably isn't the forum for this, but the league better get a group of experts together and figure how they are going to make this sport viable in the future. Something needs to be done: creative rules, or use of uniforms and helmets, that keeps the excitement and cuts down on the injuries.

Ugh that hurts, I was his biggest critic the first 3 games, and he was just starting to play like he should. Hope this doesn't handicap his tackling, no pun intendant.

The only way to cut back on injuries, is to start piss testing em...

Roid use was rampant by every team back in the day, but those dudes ain't got nothing on this current crop of hgh'ers. And another tidbit of knowledge... These boys weren't injured as often when their livelihoods counted on their week to week paycheck! Just saying. Sure, injuries will always happen regardless but with all of the info on p.e.d's and rash of injuries, it's really become a no brainer. There is always a price to pay for being more than what you truly are humanly capable of being.

On another note, Coach says Timmons has been casted and will play. At least he ain't using his injury as an excuse, and that's about as good as it gets these days!

what? what do roids have to do with being injured? doctors actually give people roids to help them heal faster. the injuries we are seeing are from roids or working out too much. ACL's, MCL's, broken hands arent from roids.

It's making players bigger AND faster. Couple this with the modern NFL uniform, form fitted, with smaller pads, and VOILA!

Look at the shoulder pads Jack Lambert used to wear. Look at what these players are wearing now.

Broken hands happen as does ligament damage, however simply lifting weights is terrible for ligaments. Lifting weights while being roid fueled is worse. Not too mention that yeah... It leads to more testosterone fueled action at a faster clip.

Getting bigger and faster too fast has never been without its downfall.
