It's good to see him being productive and the team doesn't have to rely on running back by committee. I watched him play in college his last 2 seasons and this was the player I wanted the Steelers to draft. It would have been nice if the team let him get his first 100 yd game today he had 93.

I must admit I had my reservations about him because we never actually go to see him play. But I'm glad he is good and had a good game.

INSTIGATOR! HA! I bet Bell will out gain him for the season if we can keep this thing up. I wonder if when he comes in on those wildcat plays if he has ANY option whatsoever to throw it or if they are just meant to run the ball period?

He actually made the line look good today, even with Whimper in there.

Great P/U if we can keep him healthy and on the field for years to come.

He'll be today's Franco, who I see from BobbyBiz post, was there to see him too.

It was especially noticeable today. Guy just waits that extra 1/2 second for the hole to open and BANG.

Obviously his best game to date. Still has a long way to go though.

Aye. There was one drive when Felix Jones was in, and I just felt that if Bell had been back there he would have been getting 2-3 yards extra on each run. Obviously no way of proving that, but Bell just has that little bit of fire, and more importantly the sense to know when to turn it on.

For some reason I still have a distinct fear he won't see the season out, injury-wise, but for now, the offense looks totally different when he is in the game.

I just wanna know how Y`all think the "runningback by comittee" thing is gone???(Edit... Not just in this thread...)
I saw a lot more of Jones, and Dwyer, than I wanted to, while Bell was kicking ass...
I kept worrying that he got hurt, or sumthin.
Really, It was more than just a "breather" here, and there, it was like they were still givin series to Jones, and Dwyer...
WTH? Didn`t we learn our lesson about that?
P.S..... Yes, I thought Bell looked great, I just think he would`ve had his 100 yd game, if not replaced, so often, so I am confused by those who said we have changed the "rb by committee" thing.?
    GO STEELERS!

Hopefully he becomes the horse eventually. Maybe they still have him on a snap count. I don't like the committee stuff either.

Regardless, less than a few games he has improved our run:
    No tap outs
Back to back carries and forward yardage
    100 + run game, 93 his, against a Ravens D
Pressure off Ben. Think the D couldn't just focus on planting Ben with Bell behind him?

    How long have we waited?
    Godsend.

I would never be one to pat myself on the back for calling it right (Bell and his production) but...pat-pat! What is funny, and I say this having been a fan of Mendy's, but Mendy used to try and do the same thing with the being patient (it is what a lot of people here called "dancing behind the line") but often had a hard time finishing it. I think he delivers more of a pop than Mendy could.

I gotta give felix some props too. he has run well when he's played.

I too thought mendy was a good back for us. he got in the EZ anyway. I wonder how he would have looked behind an o-line that played like ours did last week? bell, jones and mendenhall could have been a special backfield if the blocking is there.

on a side note jim: thanks for calling off that other black and gold team, so the buckeyes could stay undefeated. ;)

Does anyone else think that Tomlin put Jones back in toward the end of the game explicitly to prevent Bell from breaking 100 yards? I sort of have that feeling...Tomlin seems to have a little issue with rookies and wants to sort of keep them 'in check' so to speak. Maybe Tomlin is afraid he will get a big head or something. It just seemed like he could have given him the opportunity for a couple more carries.

I would be very surprised if this is the case... probably more due to situational calls, keeping him fresh, advice of RB coach... any of those things.
