Do you really think they will do it again? I don't see them having such a blatant disregard for Tomlin, you won't see the flips anymore.

I think the punishment may be game depending. For example, say Sanders does it again, but the Steelers are up 35-3 against the Rats in the 3rd quarter. Tomlin may choose to sit Sanders for the rest of the game. But if it is the tying score in the 4th quarter, he's more likely to take some of his paycheck or do some other "consequence" during the week.

My opinion is fine the hell out of them. If someone is scoring a TD, we need them on the field.

Why the hell did it take a losing record and things starting to spiral for no-brainer policies like this and the "No ping-ponging while on the clock" to come into effect?

    About flippin time.

That has irritated me since Santonio used to do it in Pittsburgh.

Good - I hate seeing those type things. I don't buy that football would be boring or no fun without that sort of thing. If you want to see flips, go to the circus! If you want to see a dance, watch dancing with the starts or some other stupid show. I would rather see hard nosed football than flips and dancing. There is a reason they don't want this sort of thing in the youth and college game - it is totally uncalled for! Celebrations should be reserved for after you WIN the game.

first off we don't score a ton of TD's. it's only going to take one of these hot dogs to drop the ball before they get across the GL and we lose a game. we have seen that several times throughout the league. you don't want to be THAT guy. so don't do it. take care of business and then celebrate.

My memory of Tomlin's start here was that he gave them one of the hardest workouts in training camp they had had in a long time.

its interesting how many people are credited with saying ACT LIKE YOU BEEN THERE BEFORE .. i had always heard it originated when paul brown (mike browns father) told it to bob trumpy when he spiked the ball after a TD around 1970? .. thats the first i ever heard of it and trumpy sears thats the first time he ever heard it ..

Actually, we can go back further. In his first season, 2007, he ran a brutal camp--tough than Cowher's. You can hear him say, in the team video, something to the effect of "let's see a little pain today." Many believed he worked them TOO hard in 2007, leading to their slide late in the season. the team was "spent."

I think that's when he changed his approach somewhat.

In defense of Tomlin, I don't think the new rules, regarding the number of practices in pads, have helped. He is now having to change on the fly, with a bunch of veterans AND a bunch of young players, all the while managing these practice rules.

You know what...Re-reading your post, I think this might be what you're referring to. Initially, I thought you meant the start of this 2013 season.

When I wrote that I didn't intend for the play on words, after I wrote and I realized what it was, I said "Hell yeah I'm keeping that."

Many of you are to young to remember Billy(whiteshoes)Johnson. Why can't our guys come up with something like that?
I am all about having fun, but not at the expense of getting hurt.

You're right - it was the 2007 season I meant.

And I agree about the need for Tomlin to change things on the fly.

I never liked Billy "White-shoes" Johnson. HE was good, but I could not stand him and his crap. I blame him for starting all the showboat and rediculous celebration crap.

I think end zone dances are the most immature thing in the game. Some of them make absolutely no sense. The guys are doing it so someone at EA puts their dance on their character in a game.

Golden Tate just looked like a total idiot flanking into the endzone on a punt return for (non) TD. Too bad he didn't dislocate his shoulder which could have been a real possibility the way he landed. Can't wait to see it again on C'Mon Man.

I am not saying I liked BWJ, only that the players if they feel they need to celebrate to not get hurt
doing there celebration. I prefer Larry Fitzgerald throwing the ball back to the Ref.But that is just
me, everybody is different and has different thoughts thats what makes the world go round.

And if they do get hurt because of that silly stuff, they should not get paid while out with the injury.

Re-watching Sanders flip, he really is lucky he didn't get hurt, at least Bells flip was graceful, smooth tuck and roll but Sanders just landed flat on his back, like a reverse belly flop
