Nobody is talking about how huge he was today. This kid has got it and has gotten better each week. He us no longer just reacting he is actually diagnosing the play. This kid is our future now the question is what happens if Spence returns to full speed.

I was at the game, and he looked like he was pretty comfortable in his role. How big is the guy, I'm too lazy to look it up. He looks HUGE!

Vince has more than one game. He is calling the defense and making the adjustments to match what the offense checks to and is communicating well as per our coaches.

He seems to be reacting quicker to plays each game.

I agree we may have found a future ILBer, time will tell. As for spence, He needs to get on the field.

I too have been impressed with the kid...and each game he seems more comfortable and doing better. In reality thats how any player will get better...with more playing time. As far as the future...who knows, but between him and Spence (if he gets back to what he was supposed to be)...that will be one less position to worry about on D.

Imagine that...rookies getting playing time and doing good...hmm...

I heard on wdve that he actually is calling signals already. Also though they said that actually one of his big plays should really have been credited to Ziggy. I bet Ziggy paid them to say that. LOL.

I like the kid....I like him more than I ever liked SLY....but I have heard nothing of him wearing the green dot since training camp....Kion Wilson was starting ahead of him just a few weeks ago...and Kion is nothing more than a ST guy.

So I am holding out till I see it weekly.

It's been widely talked about even the coaches acknowledged it. Also he beat out Wilson after one game of Wilson starting. Even when Wilson started he played more snaps. He has called the defense ever since Foote went down.

I actually thought Timmons was doing that until I heard today that Williams has been calling them.

Even when Foote went down I think Timmons called it for one series then Wilson took over. I don't know if Timmons isn't good at relaying the call or if Lebeau just prefers the buck do it.

Both ILB picked up there game, now lets see it continue. What is it about NY Jets that Timmons
plays lights out? This is how he should be playing every game. He could/should be a game changer every week. WHY hasn't he been?He is our most gifted defensive player. This man needs motivated every hour of the day.He can be GREAT.He should be our Clay Matthews player, WHY Lawerence can't you bring it each and every week?

    Yes we have BF.
I'm excited about the enthusiasm he's bringing to that side of the ball. He laid some pops in that game..
Troy seemed to respond to the "youngster's" contributions (#95, #98 and #29), which is a good sign moving forward IMO.
This "D" might have the last laugh if they continue to improve individually as well as collectively.
Starting to sip the Kool-Aid again..

From what I've read having Timmons call the plays actually handcuffs him. It puts a responsibility on him that restricts him from freelancing or playing off instincts some.

Kion started making the defensive calls quite quickly after foote got hurt due to his NFL over vince but since Vince did a good job of making the calls and communicating them well in pre-season the coaches gave him some snaps during the games. He ended up quite quickly having more game smaps than Wilson even though Wilson was the "starter". Vince is more athletic in that he's faster and hits harder with his bigger size than Wilson.

Fact is Vince has earned his spot starting and making the defensive calls by being effective everytime the coaches gave him some playing time.

I was so shocked when the Coaches cut McFadden but watching Vince tells me they know more than me ( not surprised) .

I think he might be that next Steelers linebacker with the nastiness that we need. He seems to play with an edge to him. I like that.

As much as I like what I'm seeing from Vince we must be careful not to make him out to be what he isn't just yet.

He has a long way to go to be compared to Farrior, he isn't even as good as foote yet. Farrior commanded and led this team's defense to #1 AND would even lead the team in tackles.

Vince was the "mike" @ FSU so he's used to leading but those coaches felt he was a liability in obvious passing downs where he was replaced so that's why he dropped to the 6th rd. He is getting better every game as Mac has said but the question is what is his true ceiling.

I'll say this, our 6th rd LBer is out performing our 1st rd LBer. We cannot let worilds leave next year.
