I initially didn't want to bring this up because I think Adams is terrible and should be cut immediately, BUT.....

If you go back and watch the plays where he gets beat in the last four games (and there are a lot), nearly every time he has no tight end support, whereas Gilbert, who is almost as bad as Adams, has had tight end support nearly every time, even when he got beat.

Remember when opposing teams had to game-plan against Harrison, and stuck an extra tight end to help the tackle a lot? Well, we have faced some of the best pass rushers on the left side so far this season, and the coaches aren't giving Adams much help.

Adams is really bad and shouldn't be on the team, but the coaches could have/should have been helping him with tight ends on his side.

Also, who is the 4th TE on the roster? He never plays. Why is he on the roster, let alone active each game?

That's another one of those brilliant personnel moves that has us all scratching our heads. Right there along with Whimper having a hat even though he's below the line from a preparation standpoint, not activating Moye and supposedly upgrading at punter. I do have to give the team credit for bringing in Velasco, however.

I still think Adams really hasn't had enough time to develop his game. He was not and never should have been starting this early, as he just isn't ready, but at the moment, I think the Tackles....Gilbert and Adams....have no confidence in their game.

I have no confidence in their game either. Funny how ThrowtoHeath proposes we use Heath to help the LT. I was thinking that we might end up with Heath as a sidecar in shotgun like Arians did. I hated it because it meant that defenses would definitely blitz since they didn't have to worry much about Miller. However desperate times calls for desperate measures.

What nobody is talking about is how Adams was stabbed before the season. Most players go really hard the 6 weeks leading up to training camp and he couldn't. As a second year player that 6 weeks is crucial.

Adams has given up four sacks, three of which were the Vikings game.

I think he will get better

I think that was sort of my point Hack. Until we changed the gameplan at halftime for the reality that he was getting dominated, he looked horrible. Maybe he wasn't awake...maybe he had jetlag still...maybe he just had a bad game. He was in his 4th start at LT in this league having faced some very good pass rusher already. He needs to watch the tape and get some coaching...and improve. I don't think Brown is going to be given the starting position, he will have to earn it.

Yeah, I know he is having a rough year but how do you give up on the guy already? It's his second year and he's and on his second OC, he was injured his first season, stabbed before this season, think he deserves some slack. He'll get better, he's got skills, some players take longer to develop then others.

the trouble is we have no starters worthy of giving adams and gilbert time to learn. both have serious flaws in their games from a technique standpoint.

we have a franchise qb that is aging before our eyes and don't have the time to waste trying to get adams and gilbert good enough while ben gets beat up and the team struggles.

2nd round picks should be able to start early in their nfl careers. these two didn't have to do much pro set pass blocking in college where the pass blocking technique should have been taught. just a bad fit.

you have to look for players that have learned the play you expect of them. just as they did with gay originally and why they took JJ. on defense, they were quick learners because they played in it in college. it's simple.

All valid points, folks these 2 OL are not IMO NFL players.
You can say well they need time, NO, they don't have the foot speed to ever be succesful. Opposing teams will study this and capitilize on this all the time. Jabaal Sheard made Gilbert look like a JR Hi player. And you want to trust your 100 million dollar franchise QB to these two?
