I say bench Adams or put him at RT bench Clark and play the rookie Shamarko Thomas. Clark is more worried about his career in the media next year than playing good football in a ESPN interview he was asking them for a job next year. I would start Worilds over Jones he hasn't made a splash play yet, Worilds has shown he can rush the passer in the past continue to sub in Jones though.

At this point, every young guy plays. Foster's injury should allow us to really see what Beachum has and he could potentially lock down that position for next year. Adams and Gilbert, need to play no matter what. The vets on the roster of the Oline in Whimper and Wallace need to be cut to allow PS guys to come up and get some snaps even if they are just on special teams. Bell gets lots of snaps. Wheaton gets lots of snaps. Paulson needs to be used more, if for no other reason to weed him out for next year. I still think Adams can get his groove back, but our expectations for him may be slightly out of whack at the moment. This was only his 8th start and 4th at LT. Let's give him some time.

On D, Shamarko and every other young guy should play over the older players.

    Beachum at LT
    Wallace at LG
    Velesco at C
    DeCastro at RG
    Gilbert at RT

    Clark on the bench
    Fangupo starts at NT
    McClendon at DE for Hood
    Worilds moves inside

Dick Lebeau would show me some blitz packages and we would play some man-on-man defense.
Haley would show show me some timing routes and routes to the backs coming out of the backfield.

If Ben doesn't show me he can protect the ball he would be next. I don't care if all 4 Dlineman are unblock, put two hands on the ball or throw it in the stands.

Perhaps a tad extreme - you want Robert Golden in for Polamalu?

    Though I understand the sentiment.

I'm with ya up until the Ben part. No way do I want Ben playing like Rivers, who throws the ball away as soon as he sees a DL get into the backfield. We all have very short memories on how Ben playing like...well, Ben...has gotten us pretty far in the past.

That isn't really what I meant. I look mostly at next year's UFAs. Heyward need to play, for Hood and Keisel. Golden does need to get on the field as much as possible in the role they see him at in the future. If Clark needs to sit some for Shamarko...fine.

I want the work the young guys in and get them experience as much as we can. If we are going to stink, we might as well get experience.

Simple: Score more points than their opponent.

Golden is not having a good season so far. Not sure he is the future now, I thought he was.

At this point I would play Worlids over Jones though. He is a vet and plays well. We can't have rookies not playing up to speed. Jarvis is getting close, but so far no cigar.

I can't tell if Clark has hit the wall or if he is over compensating for other not playing well. Our D-line and LB aren't dominating and it sometimes puts Clark in bad positions. I like our young inside LB's, but they often look out of place or get eaten up by blockers easily.

Bench Cortez Allen and Ryan Clark...Bench Foster let Beachum have that spot and move Adams to Gilbert's spot and bench him..

I know that leaves a hole at LT ,but sign a guy off the street or run a twin TE /Tackle elgible if we must ,with Miller and DJ on that side..

I think Clark is being hung out to dry. He has always been a good compliment to Troy's Tasmanian Devil persona but as the years have progressed Troy has stayed home more often and Clark has had to do less covering for him. This season Troy is blitzing more, creeping up to the line more and leaving Clark on an island. Add to that the youthful inexperience of Cortez Allen and the less than stellar William Gay and he is being asked to watch a large section of the secondary. He also has been guessing wrong on quite a few plays and that has been glaring also. So his play may not been what it once was but it is not completely his fault either.

I think someone else pointed it out, but there weren't too many plays last night when Troy wasn't at the line.

Changes? I said two weeks ago they need to simplify things for the OLine. Pick the guy in front of you and drive him back, force him inside or outside to seal a lane. Ben needs to spend every free moment working with the receivers to build his comfort level. He has his safety blanket back in Miller and his confidence in Brown is growing but he needs to have that level with everyone not just Heath. Will Johnson should see 75% of offensive plays if healthy and if they insist on having 4 TE's on gameday then utilize them in the passing game. I have never been a huge fan of DJ but he has caught some nice passes the last two weeks.

On defense they need to stop the "we are going to do what we do" attitude and design a defensive game plan to disrupt key weaknesses in the opponents offense. No more ten yard cushion, they don't have to jam them per say but even average QB's can spot the hot read on the ten yard cushion they are given. The ILB's need to stop guessing and read the play. Don't guess that they are running right because they show it presnap or post snap, they need to maintain their gap responsibilities instead of jumping into the line and being blocked while the RB make a cut back. Tackling Fundamentals, wrap them up, these launching yourself at ball carriers hoping to lay the big hit and drop the guy is just wrong. slow down and make the play flying around and hitting everything that moves has cost them turnovers.
