New OC won't change the facts that Adams and Gilbert are awful, and Ben is on the run like a track star. Not sure what game some watched when they graded out the linemen because Ben was running the whole night. Now, I truly think Bell will make a huge difference which will right this ship, and Haley will be safe until the offseason, just my opinion

if the offense struggles again sunday even if they win it wouldnt surprise me if a change is made.

the Steelers dont usually make major moves like this during the season, but its been a long time since they have struggled this bad on 1 side of the ball. im sure the Rooneys arent willing to throw away the entire season watching Haleys offense struggle while their 100 million dollar investment gets another year older and continues to get killed.

i wonder if Bell can block. to play in this offense with that oline he will half to pick up a lot of free rushers to the qb. he is an unknown commodity right now. Dwyers weakness was his blocking and his lack of conditioning. he seems to have improved in both of those areas and thats all you can ask for from a player.

The only way I see them making a change in season is if things are worse then we know behind the scenes, something people seem to be over looking.

I'm not disputing that he was in line for the job, my point was about Bouchette.

True, I just found it funny after reading the thread about Ben and Bell and Bouchettes reporting.

No... He's a good dude, that runs a podcast. There's not really a false claim there. He said people he polled had an opinion that he may be fired. You seemed to just run with it.

I agree. I dont think the fact they held onto Arians has any bearing on this. We won Superbowls with Arians- regardless if it wasnt the O that was the reason we won them. We were WINNING. We are not winning now.

lol, well then what I want to know is if you were one of the 5 "close sources" or 10 "non close sources".

"I surveyed 15 Steelers’ journalists, bloggers and commenters on whether the Steelers would make this move during the bye week. Ten of those surveyed said ‘no’ but I was really surprised to see five say ‘yes’ the move is imminent.

These are five individuals who know the Steelers extremely well so I was taken aback by their thoughts."

Where does he say any of the sources are "close sources?"

I don't think we will be that reactionary, but I could see something happening if this continues.

The FO has to make a couple of decisions.

    1. Is Haley capable of putting the guys into situations they can succeed in? If the answer is no, then he should go sooner rather than later.

    2. How is Haley's relationship with Ben and how does it impact the current teams performance?

    3. Is there tension behind the scenes? (as noted above) In other words does Tomlin want to do XYZ and Haley ignores him and does what he wants anyway? Or something along those lines.

    You missed one ...
    4. How much are the O-Line woes impacting what Haley is trying to do?

In Blasts defense it does kind of imply they are close sources by stating they "know the Steelers extremely well"

But i'm just throwing that out there, I have no cares one way or the other. :smiley1:

This thread has more twists, turns, ups, downs, and dropoffs than most of the West Virginia backroads I'v been on. :lolol:

I agree. I also get the feeling Ben and Haley just aren't in agreement as to how this O needs to be run. I think Haley wants to dink and dunk passes quickly in an effort to help the collapsing O line and Ben isn't down with that idea. I hate dink and dunk offenses too but for now it looks like a must until the O line gets their act together.

Splitting hairs aint ya? Like I said, I don't know his work so maybe this is the kind of goofball things that he blogs but don't tell me for a second that doesn't imply people close to the Steelers, he even mentioned some being journalists. Totally misleading statement if these are just fans like you.

It's not splitting hairs, and it's not misleading. Saying someone knows the Steelers very well is not at all anything like saying a source close to the Steelers...

Meybe Tomlin should let each of em call a half, at least that would give the appearance that halftime adjustments were being made. :lolol:

LOL! Yeah ok, keep dreaming. Journalists are privy to information you an I aren't, when he included them in his pool of people he polled, that made them a source. It was as misleading as you can possibly get.

I have to go with BF on this one. When I read the story I was under the impression that this come from those close with the Steelers.

Ok, I'll go with SBD. I lost faith in the article when it said "bloggers and commenters" were included in the survey. Now can we now please get back to discussing if Bouchette is the "town cryer" or an "expert witness"? :lolol:
