    A) Will the Steelers be drafting in the top 5 for 2014?

    B) Will they be drafting 6-16?

    C) Will they be drafting 17-25?

    D) Will they be drafting 26-32?

    B or C. IMO it'll probably be 16 or 17.

I think we finish probably around 6-10.

A because Ben is not going to be healthy much longer with all the hits he is taking. And the o-line is not going to get better this season.

At this point I'm hoping for A. Get some new scouts in ASAP and get the rebuild done sooner rather than later. The only thing that hurts is losing our 3rd round draft pick from next year. Although, I was and still am happy with the move to grab Shamarko.

they still should be getting a 3rd rd comp pick...while yes it'd be at the end of the round...but better than none.

I know, but having a top 5 3rd round pick and a comp pick would be nice.

Does it really matter if we pick early? If I recall correctly, Mendyl, Decastro and Jones were all supposed to be top 10 picks. Aside from Jones, don't think the Steelers even considered those guys, but grabbed them when other teams passed on them (perhaps for a reason).

Hopefully, we'll do a better job of planning for who we want/need and get him, rather than grabbing prior pick rejects.

Say whatever you want, but the truth is Mendy was a solid back for us. Decvastro will be fine, even Faneca sucked in his first year. Are you really complaining about Jarvis Jones? The guy is a rookie that's been playing well.

I think he was trying to say that we sometimes end up with "top 10" picks even though we don't pick in the top 10. I think.

    B.
Going to be between 6-10. Would hope we try to trade back a bit for teams looking at a QB in this QB heavy 1st round. (Last mock I saw 5 QBs taken in the first round)

You say that DeCastro will be fine and I hope so but for the 17th overall pick in the draft I expected more. He just doesn't seem strong enough for this level. He might get there after another off season program.

No, the point I failed to make is in 2008 and 2012, I don't think they even drafted who they planned on. Mendy and Decastro "fell" to them, so they grabbed them. I remember a follow up to the Mendy pick where it was mentioned they never sopke to him, but had to pick him once he was there for them.

They need to stop this and have a better plan, rather than react, which may be why their drafts have not panned out.

What is it they're seeing in these guys that other teams aren't, or vis versa? I don't want us to be a top 10 drafter, then pick someone who would have otherwise dropped, as our evaluation if different/inferior from other teams.

If there's one thing you can count on it's for them to string a couple of meaningless wins together at the end to hurt their draft position. That's for sure.

One of decastro's strengths was pulling left. We're still running right the vast majority of the time.

I've said it before, the sound you will hear is, with the 5th pick in the 2014 draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers draft.....Mr so and so from Ohio State!

This is team will push it to win 4 games at their present state and I don't see many things getting that much better over the weeks to come.
