Brian Hoyer for the Browns was 30-54 for 350+ yards 3 TDs, also 3 picks. But he showed he could sling it. We had him too. I always thought the guy looked good in preseason for NE (and I know it is preseason). I know the Steelers had a chance or two to get him back, but apparently no one on the Steelers was paying attention. I would rather have him than Landry Jones. I'm not saying he is the next Bernie Kosar for the Browns, but the guy really looks like a competent backup QB and really he maybe much better Wheezin Wheeden.

Trent Richardson for the Colts had 13 carries for 35 yards and a TD. It lit a fire under Ahmad Bradshaw as he put up 95 yards and a TD. Point here is, here's a guy who was traded to the Colts this WEEK! He had all of a few days to pick up some of the playbook and yet Indy found a way to utilize the guy in the offense for 15+ plays. Meanwhile the Steelers make a trade for Felix Jones, the guy has a preseason game with the team, multiple practices over a course of weeks and despite a floundering Redman, the guy gets virtually no carries. No targets in the passing game even though he is undoubtedly the best catching back the Steelers have with Howlings hurt. It is mind boggling. The personnel decisions being made by the Steelers are dumbfounding. Another example, your FB Johnson is healthy and made active last week and he gets like 6-7 snaps next week. Could he maybe help the running game? Give Ben an option in the pass game?

God forbid - I'm sorry folks, but I am beginning to think the ineptness of the this coaching staff and Colbert is really starting to show and the future of this organization don't look good right now.

The Colts showed how quickly a team can be turned around when they tank. Hopefully, we won't go that route but if we do there's at least some hope.

Got you JJ, but the thing I fear is everything is so incremental with the Steelers. When Indy went through what they did, they did some major house cleaning. I honestly think the Steelers take 4-5 years to figure whether to replace a guy. For example, nothing against Casey Hampton who had a great career, but the guy was a major waste of cap space for the previous two to three seasons. An example of guy paid a crap load of cash, while a guy like McClendon who could have been paid at a third to a quarter of what you pay Casey could have been doing just as good if not a better job.

And the Browns will still be drafting in the top 5.

Maybe twice in the top five in the 3rd with an additional pick from the Steelers. I hope not but so far nothing to make me think different.

They also showed how coaching is a lot more important than people think it is.

Hoyer - The Browns are about the only team he could start for, and is no one's long-term solution.

Richardson - Less than 3 yards a carry is Steeler-esque
