I'm sure most saw or at least heard of the after game hand shake incident. So what say you? :-D

My take is Harbaugh was out of line. I don't believe it was an intentional snub but skipping over to the opposing teams coach (may as well been singing the Banana Splits song "Tra-La-La", lol) during the traditional hand shake and slapping the coach on the back was bush league. Apologize and move on.

Schwartz was a bit out of line as well by chasing Harbaugh down and looking to throw down over that (unless Harbaugh did throw out an expletive. especially if it was aimed at Schwartz) but Harbaugh needs to remember he's not a player any longer and act like a professional.

    /2 cents

Haha, thanks for posting this. I meant to last night, but forgot. I think the whole thing was stupid, yet highly entertaining. :) I mean, sure...Harbaugh was disrespectful, but to go chasing after him? Right after the shake/push thing, you can see Schwartz turn around and say 'WTF?'. It definitely wasn't a big deal, but Harbaugh- you beat an undefeated team, great...but show a little grace in your victory.
    My .02.

To paraphrase Mike Greenberg; You know that both of them were in the wrong, but part of you, as a football fan, enjoyed seeing it happen.

I liked how they had a whole segment on Total Access about handshaking etiquette because of this. It took them five minutes to explain that:
    after a game
    you shake hands

Not impressed with Harbaugh, though. "Act like you've been there before", and all.

I definitely enjoyed it as a fan of football, and im sure both teams enjoyed watching their coaches kinda have it out. Jim Harbaugh has had a history of confrontations, i think its just in his personality. I liked Harbaugh in his press conference, "ya know it was on me, i just shook his hand too hard." LOL Kind of refreshing seeing something like that instead of the old half hearted hand shake that you know most head coaches dont mean, especially the losing coach. But that is true, Harbaugh needs to realize he's not the winning QB in this game, he is the head coach and there is a protocol that goes along with that. I enjoyed it though

The guy is a total prick. I've hated John Harbaugh since he became the Ravens' coach, but I thought maybe I was incapable of looking at him objectively. Such a baby! Whining, shouting, crying to the officials over every little thing that goes wrong, regardless of whether the call was correct. I can't stand him. No matter how you feel about Tomlin as a coach, you have to respect his cool that he keeps during games and after games. He accepts things and doesn't make an ass out of himself. He shows respect for the officials and the sport.

But I'm also a 49ers fan, and so I was hoping for the best with Jim. But he's the same way. Total baby. He was like that as a player too. I saw the "handshake" live, but they went to commercial before Schwartz chased him down. But just from the skipping and the handshake/push, I literally stood up and said, "What an a--hole!" I found it unbelievably disrespectful. How does he not know how to act in that situation? You don't have to look solemn. You can even be happy, and yes, excited! But to do what he did is proof that he's missing a screw. I've never said anything this presumptuous before, but he and his brother were not raised right. That kind of behavior is not acceptable from an 8 year old.

Maybe not the right place in this post but my Auburn Tigers played the Gators the other night and Muschamp flipped about a non call. Muschamp was Fuming...to say the least!

When this happened Sunday, it reminded me of Coach Noll's "handshake" with Jerry Glanville. They mentioned it on MNF last night too, which gave me a laugh. You can't even compare the two.

Frankly, I didn't see a problem with what Harbaugh did. He was jacked up. Deservedly so. His adrenaline was pumping. so he shook his hand and patted his back a little hard.

Is Schwartz a man? Did that hurt his whittle feewings?

If anyone is in the wrong, it's Schwartz for running after him and trying to start a fight over it.

Then again, I like seeing coaches be human. It was probably the thing I loved about Cowher the most.

(OT: we can even post youtbe clips? I'm liking this place more and more. Great job, TTF)

Apparently, Harbaugh swore at him too. Schwartz was acting like a man, he was dissed at home in front of his team. I'm glad he did it, not taking any crap from a well known A-Hole. I'm not sure which Harbaugh is the bigger jerk. I guess only time will tell. You think Cowher would let that slide?

No way. And I don't believe Tomlin would either.

You're spot on about Schwartz too. He HAD to do something. You can't go back to your locker room and keep convincing your team that they shouldn't take crap from no one after not standing up for yourself. He lead by example in that regard. Not necessarily condoning what Schwartz did (as it only made the issue worse) but he had little choice if he wants to keep the respect in the locker room.

It also appears that some are saying there was more to the story. Apparently when Harbaugh tried to call for a review of a non reviewable play Schwartz was seen mocking Harbaugh and mouthing something to the affect of "know the rules" and this was Harbaugh's way of snubbing him and getting him back. ??

I have to admit bias, I hate Raven's Harbaugh, and the brother was a D bag at Stanford. Pete Carroll really hates him.

When Tomlin was asked about it he said - paraphrasing "I don't care, I don't practice shaking hands." :roflmao:

Yeah, you can see Harbaugh say something over his shoulder after Schwartz says wtf, or maybe that's what Shwartz was saying wtf to, I don't remember, have to watch it again. In any rate, it wasn't the hand shake/slap that got Shwartz to run after him, its whatever Harbaugh said that got him riled up.

I can't stand either Harbaugh, but I'd have to put my money on Jim giving Schwartz a beatdown if it came to blows. That was some funny stuff!
