Sad part is, Wheaton was on the field for that play  According to one of the members here, I don't remember seeing him.

I don't either. I thought Cotchery was the only WR on the field.

Interestingly enough, the article mentions many of our rookies, but skips probably the most important one to our offense....Bell, who at some point this year, probably very soon, will be given the rock as the main RB.

It's about time. I'm tired of our rookies sitting on the bench for 3 years of their rookie contracts and we don't know what we have. At this point it can't be any worst. I would include Moye as well. He has soft hands, determination and height.

It might be comforting for you to know that bell was a full participant in practice today

And they will start him and he will break when DeCastro mistakes a Bear linebacker for a chicken wing and lets him slip through, crashing into Bell.

Wheaten was on the other side when Moye caught that TD pass.

What confuses me is, they used Wheaten on the deep ball plays for most of the preseason, in the regular season they've been using Sanders, i don't even think they threw 1 deep pass to Sanders during preseason :hmmm:

The only time the other teams corners broke up a deep pass to Wheaten was when he had to slow down for the under thrown passes. He would be at least 3 yards ahead of the corners, then had to slow down which aloud the coverage to catch up.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the news about Wheaton seeing more action, but dammit just use him and don't tell the whole friggin world what you plan to do.

What is wrong with everyone knowing Wheaton is going to see more playing time?

If you draft him, then play him! I don't care how young he is! Rookies have impacts and if ours don't then Colbert and the administration better get their tired act together like fast!

yes wheaton was on the field that play and I did hear bell was going to start. I read that and will try and find where. desperate times call for desperate measures. if they are going to make the team younger by purging vet's , they have to play the youth.

He was literally right beside of him. That was what made me so mad about the play call.

He was indeed. I really thought that it was a personnel mix up at first, but I think it may actually have been Haley out thinking himself.

I'm really not sure if "thinking" was part of the equation at all. LOL.

No crap as well as running to the short side when you haven't proven any of those guys could block.

I thought the same thing on that play. When Cotchery did get the handoff I yelled what are they doing even before he got tackled for a loss.

What bothers me the most is why would you do that with your slowest receiver. Again not very smart in designing plays with your type of pesonnel.

If we could see that, why doesn't the OC or the head coach see that. This stuff is just perplexing to me....
