a 0-3 hole would be tough especially if they look like they did the 1st 2 games.

Not ready to concede anything, but I'm also not very hopeful at this point.

The 1989 team got off to as bad a start as it can get, outscored 92-10 in those two losses. This, coming off a 5-11 1988 season. I remember Brent Musberger (his last season as host on CBS) reporting the loss to Cincinnati and saying, "It's going to be a long season in Pittsburgh, folks."

The 2000 team looked absolutely horrible. Kent Graham was the starter. Cowher pulled him and put in Kordell, who had a mini-resurrection of his career that lasted into the 2001 season.

Even if we win on Sunday....not getting a running game will KILL this team. It is vital to our success.

And the Saints finished 7-9 and ATL finished 13-3.

For #7, yes, already have. To come together as a team and persevere trough adversity? No, I haven't give up on them for that yet. I still want to see Steeler football. I want to see the young guys get opportunities that will make us stronger next year. I want to see a decent draft next year.

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'concede the season'

    if you mean:

Concede winning or going to the SB? all but the dead-enders have done that

Condede going to the playoff? Football Ousiders estimates the Steelers Playoff chances at 3.4%, another loss would probably cut that in half. I will concede that the Steelers won't beat the 1 in 50 odds.

Concede a .500 season? At 0-5, the binomial probability of 8-8 or better is 3.2%. I'll concede that that's not in the cards.

Concede that they might not look better or finish stronger orhave younger players develop? No, no decent fan would concede that yet.

i think a season means something if we go to the playoffs, less than that the season is over
