I really think he made some bad throws tonight and continues to make poor decisions under pressure.

Both QB's were sailing passes tonight...maybe it was windy? Not sure....
Bengals did give a lot of pressure to make it hard for Ben.

He is under pressure every time the he gets the ball. Remember he has no O line in front of him.

Watching on TV, at halftime when he was running/walking into the locker room it looked like he was limping or something. Just not a very fluid motion in his stride.

I was at the game tonight, and I'm re-watching now. Being at the game you miss a lot but you do get a better idea of what's happening down the field.

Ben DEFINATELY missed a lot of throws, but I don't think it's really all his fault. We know about the OL troubles and what I noticed tonight it we went deep down the sideline A LOT, and it was never because we had a man open. Ben had so little time that he never gets a chance to go through his reads. EVERY time Ben went vertical tonight he just lofted it up to a covered man and hoped he'd make a play...

And we have receivers that can work well in space or could really be dangerous in an offense with a lot of timing routes, but they're not going to go up and battle for a ball.

Bingo! They are not going to go up and fight for that ball often. They just don't have the size for it. They need real separation or routes designed to allow them to come back to the ball like we saw AJ Green doing all night.

It just looks like Ben does not have the velocity or control of the ball this year.

Ben has thrown high to receivers ever since he came into the league in 2004. This is nothing new. However, he isn't playing as well as he has in the past. That is very visible.

I actually have said this a couple times. I know it sounds paranoid and, believe me, I am not a conspiracy theorist - but there is something up here. I dont care how many times they say they are BFF's, Ben and Haley do NOT like each other.

I'll say this again, Ben is a winner, he hit Cotchery on a 6 yard crossing route and he drops the ball, it was high but it was very catchable. Paulson has a great reception and can't hold on to the ball and the oline, well lets see, watch the game in slow motion on the DVR and see if he has any throwing lanes. I'm old enough to remember watching the Steelers play with a great team but no QB, and we have one now but there is almost no support, this years oline is THE WORST one I ever saw put on the field. Did you see Ben keep the ball instead of handing it off to Jones because not 1, not 2 but 3 defenders were on him before he could hand the ball off, luckily they went for the back and a good thing Ben kept the ball. This team may not even see 8-8, they are bad.

I don't see the speed or height in our current receiver core that used to allow Ben the room to overthrow them to some extent. When they were fast enough to break free or tall enough to reach up for a grab, it might have worked. I'd say he should adjust a bit lower and see what happens, but I have the feeling that would just end up with more picks. I don't know...

Look at the plays. Count the time. Ben usually is backpedaling out of the pocket at the snap, and has 1.5 seconds not to find a reciever, but to just throw the ball to whatever seems like the best bet. The guy has no protection at all. It's pathetic.

Secondly, Cotchery (sp) doesn't have the speed that Wallace did. And he doesn't go up after the balls. I counted 2 balls that sailed over his head where only he could have gotten them, and he barely jumped 12 inches off the ground for them. He just turned around, pointed to the sky like "You want me to jump up and get that?"

I was pretty happy when we picked up Cotchery and was glad when we kept him this season, but it annoyed me to no end last night when he looked like he wasn't even trying for the ball.

Like He hasn't seen pressure before, he choked that game last night even though the Oline gave him more time and only gave up 1 sack, the other sack was on ben...

people can blame Ben all they want, but hes not the problem.

his #1 & #2 wr are both possession type receivers that would be #3's on most good teams. his #3 wr probably shouldnt even be on the team. he has 2 young guys that will probably barely sniff playing time because "thats the way the Steelers do things". his TE is hurt and the te he has now cant hang on to the ball.

he has no running game to support him and he probably has the worst oline in football. put all that together and im not really sure what people expect from him.

I am going to rant here and I don't care who agrees with me or not.

Ben absolutely threw that game away last night. It wasn't the Ben of old. He could have single handedly won but gave about a 35% effort. I have never seen him before get in an argument with a receiver like he did last night with Brown. After that he only targeted him once. Clearly he was the best play maker out there but ignored he can't do anything. Instead he goes to Cotchery who couldn't catch anything. Felix Jones was tearing up yards and ignored. Haleys play calling wasn't that bad but if the main player doesn't buy into the system then it will surely fail.

After watching that game last night I can't help but feel that Ben just doesn't care anymore to be the best that he can be in a Steelers uniform. Whether it be a rift with Haley or no fear of being disciplined by Tomlin. He just doesn't put forth the effort that I have seen in the past. It's terribly frustrating to watch given his past passion for the game. It simply wasn't there last night. 5 years ago that game wasn't even close. Ben would have dominated with what the Bengals were giving him.

Here's where I may get blasted but I don't really care. Ben may just be tanking a season here in order to align a trade to Arizona and reunite with BA. Just a Thought. Go ahead and debunk that theory. I'm all ears.

so because Ben didnt single handedly win that game it was because he doesnt care.

what about the other 52 guys on that roster. they all get paid also. im not sure what game you watched, but i didnt see any other player make any plays that were game winning type of plays.

Ben is one of those rare qbs that gets very little praise when his team wins, ie both super bowls, but he takes a ton of flack when they loose.

Certainly every player on the team matters but what I am saying is the Ben of old finds a way win that game but this latest version of Roethlisberger wants to thumb his nose at his best playmaker instead of using him to win the game.
