While there is a lot of love for Jarvis on this mb, I believe he will be a good player not great. Jarvis demonstrates a nose for the ball and the ability to sift through blocks, why not try him at lib? I believe he did play inside earlier in school. We need our outside lb to be able to get to qb consistently. Jarvis is not fast enough to take the corner nor can he get low enough. There is a reason he fell in the draft and I think we are finding out why. I think he could be special on the inside. If we keep him on the outside, be ready for 4-5 sacks a yr. We need this person to create havoc for this defense to generate turnovers.

Like the kind of havoc Jason Worilds has been creating?

Jarvis Jones is just fine at OLB. Give him a full season (and more snaps/game) and I think you will see the production.

Not happening. The team already discussed it, and decided against it. Believe it was in an article last week.

I agree. He needs to stay on the outside. After an off season of conditioning and weight training he should be alot better and be able to hold the edge.

I don't know, I could see Jarvis as an ILB here.... I like the speed Worlids has on the outside. He has a quicker first step than Jarvis. When we got those two defensive stops against the Bears Worlids was in there, he came off the edge a few times with speed, and it reminded me a lot of Harrison.

Its a shame we will probably lose him next year. He would be a nice backup to have.

Honestly, Jarvis' skill set kind of reminds me of Farrior? JArvis' dropping back in coverage really isn't there yet, but I think I could see it happen.

Hey just a thought....still waiting for his first sack, preseason included. Makes me wonder how he was able to get so many sacks in college.

JU was in the backfield the other night, and has been right there on several plays. Give him more than 3 games before you question him. One off season, 10-15 LBs of muscle=Pro Bowl

You have to give the kid a chance where he is at. I believe he will be special right where he is. I said before pre-season that he seemed a little undersized until I saw him during pre-season. His size really isn't bad but wait until he gets up to NFL size. Guy will be a beast!

Based on the way the coaching staff talks about the complexity of this D, Jarvis is probably still playing a little bit slower than he can. He has to think so he doesn't make mistakes rather than just reacting cause he knows what is happening. I still think we see 3-4 sacks from him this year. That being said, if Butler thinks he would be better inside I have no problem with that either.

I like Williams though and think he can contribute, and I like the thought of waiting on Spence a little longer. Williams, Timmons, Spence would be a nice inside group. Woodley and Jarvis outside. This team finds guys who makes plays, they always have. The D other than lack of sacks and turnovers has actually been pretty good....good enough to win if the offense shows up.

I like Williams a lot too, I like his fire, but I'm not sure what to think yet....

Kenyaron Fox like to hit hard and played with an edge, just like Vince, he was decent on special teams. But the team did not bat an eye when they cut him in the offseason soley because he doesn't defend the pass well.

I wish we would move worilds to the inside. Jarvis will be a stud on the outside. see if Jason can play inside. it sure wouldn't hurt to try.lol

I'd actually move Woodley inside. Leave Jones where he is, and shift Worilds to left OLB since he plays better on that side.

Woodley would get destroyed by tight ends and running backs in coverage.

He's already huge for an OLB.

Wow, it amazes me how impatient people on this MB can be.

Sounds like the OP is awfully close to labeling Jones a bust already.

I think moving JJ to ILB would be more effective than moving Timmons to OLB. I can see Jarvis playing inside as his skillset fits the mack but honestly, he isn't needed there. Timmons is up to form, Willaims & Kion fighting it out for the buck and both are really shining as they are growing. To move JJ inside would be to remove Timmons- and that ain't gonna happen.

JJ dropped in the draft due to a spinal issue/fear. He seems a bit undersized for OLB but Russell Wilson is a bit undersized for a QB and welker is a bit undersized/slow for a WR. He'll be just find @ OLB especially since we've changed our fundamental 3-4 sheme a bit.

Jones will be fine at OLB he needs to put on some weight 10-15 pounds.

Nope. Stated he would be a good player, just not great....is that a bust? I hope I'm wrong, only time will tell. I don't think adding weight/muscle will make him faster, hence my recommendation to move him inside. Just my opinion.
