Now I am going to tell everybody to jump off the Empire State Building, are you going to do it because I tell you so, knowing that you may die.
I think there are alot of yes man and ass kissers on this board. Now back to the Empire State building, the only person I am ever going to jump off
that building for is my family. I don't owe the Steelers NOTHING.Hell I have watched and rooted for the Steelers longer than most of you
pups have been living, and it make me a lesser fan than you because I think they will lose to some teams at some locations. YEA RIGHT.

I don't play mostly because my team would be all Steelers and I know that's not gonna cut it in Fantasy football. Second I really could care less about other Football teams or players other than the Steelers.

The Steelers don't love me right now or they'd be playing good football and giving me what I want, WINS!! So, I picked against them hoping they'd win out of spite.. ;)

Good  Unfortunately it did for some. I knew some would need a thick skin for a post like this just as I knew I would need a thick skin for some of the responses. I could have taken great offense with Rays response, basically called me a liar and put words in my mouth, even know it had nothing to do with what I was saying, that's fine though, I ruffled his feathers first. Like you said, stuff like this keeps the board interesting.

Knew you wouldn't remotely grasp this.

That's for sure, Free your mind is a great song though ;)

That reason did cross my mind :lolol:

i'd think by the money thrown at AB, he should outplay green. let's add by the same token our franchise qb should be getting the ball to AB more. AB was and still is the only WR in history to have over 1,000 receiving yards and over 1,000, return yards in one season, so it's not really as cut and dry as you make it sound bobby. at least in theory. FF is just that fantasy.

So if they were both sitting there and its your pick, you would take Brown?

in a real game yes. with the addition of what he can give you on ST's, I think it's more of a help then what green just gives you on offense.

I'm sorry it came off like that. I never intended to call your intentions into question. Just to show that whether you intended it to or not, by the words you chose, you were questioning other people's fandom. :)

    Heh, ironic... :lolol:

steeler fan, I appreciate the apology and I owe you one as well. i'm sorry about the crack about the name change but, I don't get the part about me not knowing you and then you saying FU. if i'm your F avorite U ncle , wouldn't I know you?

I hold no grudges sir, just can't figure out with all that you say is wrong with our team, why you would have that name and keep it? knowing that the play on the field from one week to the next, with such a young offense can't be corrected.

even the most clueless fan of all times would know that teams work all year and week to week to get better and very seldom does week one mean that players and coaches can't adjust as they go in this league. if the season ends after one week, i'm truly sad because I've got 51 more weeks to wait to see us get better, and we are paying coaches way too much for nothing.

Its called Blind Faith. No matter how bad your team plays and your high dollar players stink week in and week out, you think they are still great and everything is just peachy keen. Most posters on here prefer to subscribe to this way of thinking. I prefer reality. I think we will end up in last place in our division. We have no running game. Our franchise QB is now the fourth best in the division, as is our defense. Other than that everything is peachy keen. If this makes me a bad fan, so be it.

Thats ok, I didn't really take it that way and was just making a point, see what I did there ;) Basically anyone can pick apart another persons post and apply different meaning to it. My original post was just to express my view of what I think a fan is (JMO, it's not gospel) and to try and understand why others feel to inject realism into such a irrational thing such as fandom in the first place. You mentioned something about the optimistic having blind faith but don't you yourself have that? We all believe we can get to the SB every year, even given the improbability of success at doing so, there are so many variables that can sabotage a teams chance of getting to and winning the SB but we still think they can every year, wheres the realism in that? Heck, even now I bet you are harboring some hope that we will win it this year, right? Certainly there is a chance we can beat the Bengals. That's just me though, I think they can win every game so I'll always pick them. Didn't mean to make it sound like you aren't a good fan or that I am a better fan than you or others, sorry, I know you are a die hard Steeler fan and poop black and gold

Well said. The idea that you can predict the Steelers will lose and not cheer for them is ludicrous. I have bled black and gold my whole life. That doesn't mean I assume they are going to win every game 50-0

:facepalm:That is ridiculous. Green is one of the top 5 WRs in the league. Of course, since Ben has no time to throw, his deep threat would be immediately neutralized

ridiculous? I've seen ike taylor shut him down an entire game. ST's and field position takes away a lot of the need for a deep threat. AB makes things happen on offense and ST's, which is two phases of the game not just one, when he gets shut down.

No I was saying that En Vogue was supposed to have a space. I remember them very well. I used to do nothing but watch MTV constantly growing up. Givin' him somethin' he can feel is their best song. Salt-N-Pepa and TLC were better though. LOL. Also you probably remember SWV.
