Does anyone here actually think that Lamarr Woodley is worth the 60 million the Steelers are paying him? He had one good season a few years back. Once he signed his big contract he went into hibernation. If you watch him every play all he does is stay engaged with the guy blocking him most of the time. Someone should tell him that its ok to go around or through that blocker. We put absolutely NO pressure on the QB unless we blitz. Instead of paying Woodley 6 mil a year to pretend out there we can put anyone in his spot at one tenth the price and accomplish the same thing. With the money they save they could go out and get a receiver that is taller than 5'5".Same old Sh*t.

You want to get rid of probably one of our two young guys in his prime (along with Timmons)?

It's well documented that Woodley has struggled, but a big part of that was due to injury. He's shown the ability to be a dominant pass rusher. Right now he's on pace for 64 tackles and 16 sacks...

    It's been one game, stop.

If Woodley can stay healthy he will be the Steelers all time sack leader

Hey SBD clear your box. Also Woodley needs to stay healthy.

Last year, Woodley was injured AND out of shape. It was a huge disappointment. I believe he has addressed the weight thing and will have a much better season this year. Didnt he have our only sack last week?

Yeah but what's weird is someone pointed out that Troy didn't get credit for a sack when he blew that play up at the LOS.

I know. I was going to say Woodley had ONE of our sacks but I was told Troy's amazing play was not considered a sack for some inexplicable reason.

Yeah have you heard any explanation on that? The only thing I can figure is maybe since the qb was AT the line then maybe it didn't count as a sack. Regardless it was awesome though and remember when he did that same thing to Kerry Collins?

I believe they credit it as a tackle and not a sack because at the point of contact he was essentially a RB as he was going back to hand off the ball. I think they would have made it a sack had he set up to throw a pass. slim distinction but it is the only reason I can see.

He is a good player...but he definitely benefited from being next to Aaron Smith, who could collapse pockets, and being on the other side of James Harrison who would get the double teams.

Woodely is really good in run defense though no matter who he is next too.

He is an 8-10 sack a year kind of player, if the other players around him are doing their job he can get higher than that.

He looked good not great. He blew up a couple of linemen on different plays to force Forte to turn back into the defense. Other than that....... nothing special about what he did.

It wasn't a sack because it was a running play. Look at the line blocking.
