No. That was stupid and poorly executed. If there is one thing to be mad about today, thats it. Don't care what he was trying to do, that bone headed play is going to be a severe blow to this team. Not something just to relax about.

Dude on THAT play there was no need for him to do anything. He was away from the ball. He could have started doing jumping jacks and it wouldn't have mattered. That was just a dangerous play. He said he would have to look at the film. He said it was "just football" and it very well may be but it doesn't have to be. The reporters framed the question from the standpoint that it was absolutely his fault because they asked him if he felt guilty for that happening or something like that. I listened to it on the radio. Is there anywhere I could listen to it again?

Grab Reid Fragel off Cinnci PS

Pick his brain for this week....as you know the Bengals are talking to Harrison

Fragel a RT and former TE can take over the BEACHUM 3rd TE role.

This is the one thing about sports (especially football) that we (or anyone) could go round and round on. What should have happened or shouldnt have or what this or that could have caused/etc. But I'll throw more into the fire for the hell of it, haha. As was already mentioned Pouncey looked to be disengaging and moving onto the next level/defender...that would free up the the DL player to go right to the RB/etc (POTENTIALLY). Could DD have just engaged with that DL? Maybe...maybe not...but in reality again was probably just doing what was supposed to be done on that play to cut the DL...with the speed of the game...you don't have time to think in some cases...just act. It sucks it happened...its happened many times before to many players and will continue to.

An interesting stat...before todays games...there were already 170 players on IR...38 MORE than last year at the same time. Add probably 3 more of the Steelers to that list now.

I think ultimately what happened was that DD timed it wrong. Horribly wrong. However if he had landed his block on the defender I bet it would've been a penalty because it would have been in to HIS knee and also he was engaged. It was one of the worst case scenarios that could have happened. I've seen some comments on the web saying Pouncey deserves it because he's a punk that defended Hernandez.

In so many words that could some it up...bad timing...which happens ALLLLLLLLLLLL the time in football. Sometimes nothing bad happens...other times the worst thing(s) happen. And maybe he would have still been engaged maybe not...we'll never know...though I'm sure we'd all take the penalty over the injury!

I actually haven't changed it since like the off season (even before Foster was re-signed and Colon was cut). But I've been meaning to can it for a bit now since obviously its wrong, haha....now I need something else to put there. As I always looked for that as I scrolled down to my posts (so I could read the ones after mine)....hmmmm....haha

I would just put 5 question marks in a row and call it "the 2013 o-line". LOL. That would actually be the most accurate description!

That doesn't matter. Basically. it's not illegal if your cutting the man engaged by the player next to you. IF Gilbert pulled on the play and cut the player engaged by pouncey then it would have been a penalty. IF you remember two seasons ago against the Ravens when everyone was *****ing about big snack getting cut that's the reason it wasn't called.

Hmmm...I've heard it both ways, the way you just said and also it has to be one player removed that can cut while engaged...not the next player...so Gilbert would be OK cutting the guy Pouncey was engaged with but not DD. I dont think anyone knows for sure hahaha....

I have some questions, does Decastro play with his eyes closed, or maybe he is color blind and cant differentiate black and gold from titan blue, and what is he doing, going for the knees on any player let alone his own; He isn't becoming that top rated guard we think we drafted pulling dumb moves like this one........

Cut blocking should be removed from the game to protect the players.
