-If anyone had told me we would keep them to 16 points, 9 times out of 10 I would have predicted a big win
-Why were we still trying to run deep into the 3rd Qtr?
-Could even Peterson, Foster or Forte run with our Oline & playcalling? Is RB the problem?
-This one is not on our D, but they need to create turnovers. 1 sack, 0 fumbles, 0 ints... that won't take us to the playoffs
-Why weren't Wheaton and Moye in the mix during the last 3 or 4 drives?
-And that's why you don't use your IR with option to return tag on a 2nd stringer TE who is far from being our bigger need
-5 sacks to Tenn means a long, long season to Big Ben
-Our first drive was nearly perfect. The only drive we
-Loved that Old-Style Polamalu tackle of Locke
-I Taylor was not even close to making a play, even though he tackled pretty quick
-J Jones had a very nice first NFL play. 2 or 3 weeks into the season and this guy will be a starter
-The game was lost during our 3 consecutive 3&outs to start the 3rd quarter
-What's the deal with Clark's injuries?
-Felix Jones: 0 rusing attempts, 0 passes thrown his way. I mean, if they are low on him, why ever bring him? That roster spot could have been Dwyer's.
-And that's why you don't burn bridges with your veteran players. Max Starks & Dwyer should be here
-E Sanders is going to have a big stat year. And that means he'll want a big contract. We need to give reps to Wheaton and Moye, 'cause Sanders is leaving in march
-Woodley made a couple of nice plays, but after that, and a hit to Locker by Timmons, we didn't create a lot of pressure. Lack of called blitzes?

The defense got tired and ran out of gas and the offense just doesn't have a line to pass protect or run block. :frustrated:

I agree with most of these thoughts, WWW. But this one in red is playing on my mind.

The fact is that we have no TEs, other than Paulsen. And that severely damages our offense. It shouldn't, given the strength in depth we have at WR etc., but it does. So while at the time using the IR return slot on Spaeth was a mystery to me, after today I can perhaps understand it more. I also think we get a lot better when Will Johnson steps back in.

Exspecially in the red zone. Even the anownser on Tv said without Heath in they have no big receivers. You just know in the red zone Ben is not even looking at Brown or Sanders.

Put Moyer in at that time and leave the Paulson Cotchery Moyer and take one of smurths out.

Short answer is Spaeth will play this year....Pouncey and Foote done for the year....if you didn't use the IR to return on Spaeth....all three would be done...and you still would be holding onto the RETURN IR spot.

Spaeth is the 2nd best TE on the team..and its really not close IMO.

    Miller, Spaeth.....then Paulson.

That is not saying much though when compared to the 1,2 combo on other teams even in our own division.

And that's why I originally said that it makes me wonder if we should have waited to use that IR spot.

I'm not a rule guru, but I guess that if we haven't used it and someone was injured week 1 or 2, you can tag him IR with designation to return.
You never know when you'll need it. And I still don't think that Spaeth could bring so much to the table in order to give him that designation, that's all.
Yeah, I know you think there's a great distance between Spaeth and the next guy on the Depth Chart, but IMO it could have been used if a starter went down with some 6-8 week injury.

I agree...but honestly...I think we are going to be at least 5 weeks in before anyone can go....THERE!....THAT GUY....THATS THE GUY WE SHOULD OF USED IT ON!

I have no problem with Spaeth...and I can't wait to see him back on the field with Miller to end the season.
