Go ahead, I dare one person to try and make this point again. I never understood this criticism in the first place and ever since the game his nose was turned into a question mark, then tonight, there has to be no doubt. I could list a bunch of other examples.

Is there any active QB who is even in the conversation as far as toughness?

The one thing I haven't heard yet is the d-bag that hit Ben came in awfully low and seemed to be going for the knees. I guess I need to see some more replay. If that had been Marcia, there would have been yellow laundry all over the field. Am I overreacting on that? Ben is the toughest sumbeech around. Fo sho!

I think there could be a little over-reaction on that. I didn't see anything illegal, but I wasn't really looking for it either. Wasn't it our former 3rd string NT (Scott Paxson) who put the hit on Ben?

The Legend of Ben Roethlisberger grew even bigger tonight with his tough play.

Oh, head on over to the Official Cincinatti Bengals "Smack Talk" board. They say Ben faked the whole thing up.

    Those Bungles....

Here is the link, if you care to go argue (but only visit Smack Talk or they will kick you off the boards): http://boards.bengals.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

    to all of them!

I thought the rule was if you hit the QB below the waist it is a penalty? I'm probably wrong but I'll tell you if it was Brady getting hit like that, the fist time he grimaces in pain the flags would be flying! I don't think the defender was playing dirty but he was in control and I've seen guys get flagged for bumping a QB on the thigh as they were falling and this guy was running full blast and going for a low hit but whatever, it is what it is.

I thought the rule was no hits below the knees, which that hit was. League may look at it and levy some fines. But then again, considering who the victim was, maybe not.

He still is a drama queen. He creates the drama and then come back in and is the HERO :superman: .He wouldve been the HERO if he had thrown for 300yds/3td's.But the drama made it a more interesting game then it had to be.

You know the Bengals have a valid point. What QB wouldn't want to get, what looked at the time like a broken ankle, an injury, leave the game, only to come back and hobble around the whole second half. I mean don't QBs' live for this kind of stuff? Next time he should break both of his arms so that he has to throw with his feet. Then he would really look like a hero. Or, he could play without his head, this seems to work for Bruce calling plays!

:roflmao: Please tell me you are being sarcastic even though It doesn't seem thinly veiled...

Did you see his effing leg?!?!!?!?! It was the football version of the Exorcist! You can't possibly think after he got it twisted like that, he conjured up a scheme to give up on the drive, screw the team, fans, coaches and go to the locker room for EXTRA attention and affection? :roflmao: Please....

I checked out their board and I only saw one or two negative comments and was surprised how many said how tough he was and wished him well - one said it would take an amputation to keep him out.

How about Troy having Clark pull his shoulder back in the socket and barely winced??

They Troy/Clark thing was unbelievable!

I honestly thought Ben's ankle was broken and his season over. I couldn not believe it when he started warming up for the third quarter :yahoo:

Did you guys hear one of the NFL network guys say he took the needle? Maybe Irvin. What is he referring to? Cortisone? Some kind of local? Maybe I'm just a little naive on that.

I think they should take out both of his arms and both legs. Then, make him hop around - take a shotgun snap in his mouth and launch his passes through the air that way.

Yeah, I think he jokingly called him 'Mr Needle'. I assumed he was implying that he took a local pain shot at the half to get back in the game. I doubt he had any idea what he was talking about.

The whole thing made me feel like I was watching a '70s football game. All that was missing was a LB getting stitches on the sideline.

Totally... The bartender was joking with me about Dr. Clark. Really though, why not have the trainers tend to that? Crazy toughness.

Yeah, I'd bet Ben has "taken the needle" on a few occasions. I thought he was gone for the game for sure, but knew when he was putting weight on it while exiting the field it wasn't broken. I was shocked he made it back with or without the shot. Except for that ****ty floater (that he's good for at least once a game), he played great.

I'm still not sure he'll be good for the 49ers game. Once they remove the tape that inflamation will set in and the ankle will balloon.

'70's football. Like "North Dallas 40"

I'm still not convinced there isn't a break there. I sure hope the MRI shows an intact ankle. That was a really weird angle. I hope it isn't, but it would sure make a good story that our QB played with a broken leg.

On the same note - I'm listening to the Stains fans whining today and treating things as if their team actually WON last night. I keep telling them that the Steelers beat them with a ONE-LEGGED quarterback!!

With the fan base the Steelers enjoy he represents more than just the area. He reminds us that if you love what your doing you find a way to keep after it and that sometimes those little aches and pains that keep us down maybe are not so devastating.

I just got a Cortisone shot in my knee (ACL, lateral meniscus tears) a week and a half ago and before it I was in an imobilizer and using a cane and after I had pretty much full function and little pain, except when I twist it. It is wearing off, but my surgery is on the 12th. Don't worry, I'll be ready for training camp.

Ben is not only the toughest qb in the league, but one of the toughest players in the whole league. Last night was awesome!
