Ok...i must know...what is the whole Z/Zoltan and Pirates thing? I do not follow baseball...though I do always hope the Pirates do good/etc...so if someone could enlighten me as to WTF the connection/etc is...that would be great.

 

I heard Ben talking about this in his presser today and I didn't really get it either. He also said that Mesko speaks 4 languages. On a better note though JackAttack will be pleased to hear that Ben said they had been watching "TONS OF FILM" on the Titans.

Interesting....so basically it was a random thing that happened one day and its become a big deal now...sounds about right for this day and age, hahah.

 

As a side note...looks like they gave Mesko a 1 yr deal...

I was hoping for a multi-year deal myself...but I can understand the wait and see part...I just hope they don't loose him if he continues to be a solid punter as he's been so far.

 

But can the guy actually punt though?

 

Last year was his worst year, and it was about on par with Butler, statistically, when it came to averages. Before that he was better.

Plus, he supposedly has better hang time, and the stats support that. He allows considerably fewer return yards. That's a big deal. I remember making a big point out of it when people wanted Kapinos over Sepulveda. Sep had only allowed like 37 return yards all season or something like that. Mesko also has experience in cold weather, so there's no need to worry there.

 

Dude Sep was a guy that broke my heart to have to see him go. I really had high hopes for him. He could boom that thing like you wouldn't believe. It's a huge shame that he couldn't stay healthy. At one time I almost bought his jersey. That dude was a football player. He could tackle and wasn't afraid to hit somebody.
