Decades of watching football as a fan and a sports journalist blended with research skills I developed in both of my careers. I'm far from the only person who thinks the Bears got a steal with the player the Steelers should have taken.

It also helps that, unlike some folks here, I can love the Steelers while still retaining the ability to think clearly about the way they operate.

 

I actually think were ok at the skill positions, TE, WR, RB. A little worried about the O line and Qb of course. No one is really proven on the line except Frazier

 

I think we finally realized that we need more than one WR in today's NFL. Which is good.

But DK is still the only real explosive player for the skill positions IMO.

So I think we'll have to count more on long drives (meaning many plays) over quick strikes. And that's pretty tough IMO.

 

If in fact you are a legitimate sports journalist, and if in fact you are the only remaining journalist who actually does their job, which is "reporting sports news", rather than "trying to make news" through clickbait and intentional mis-representation, you should know better than to present your opinions as conclusive fact .... you just lose credibility.

I'm sure there are others who share your opinions but this is a Steeler forum and not a dictatorship. Your opinions count just the same as every others posters opinions.

You should think clearly about the way YOU operate.

Roman Wilson if used can be an explosive player.

 

Those two points alone I think have alot of weight. I agree 100%

 

I've seen too many wrong routes and mental mistakes from him to trust him. And I think this is why AR doesn't throw to him.

 

Surely with such finely honed research skills you are aware of the multiple reputable pre-draft evaluations that expresses concern on Theinman? Theisman? Whatever his name.

Many many folks were high on him. Some were not. He was far from a clean prospect. Painting him as such after three preseason games is a disingenuous representation of the research.

using the same model, the kid the Steelers drafted in the 7th round is the best safety in the draft class.

 

For me, if the plan isn't to get Washington 5-7 targets a game, or more if the opportunities are there, it is poor coaching. This opinion might put me in the minority, but I just feel as if he could be a serious weapon.

On a more serious note, there is zero evidence for your claim at the NFL level.

He can't even get a helmet.

This seems to be because he runs the routes he wants the way he wants to run them. Not the routes that are called in the way they are designed.

Rodgers had alluded to this many times. And we saw it contribute to multiple INTs in Roman's limited snaps in the preseason.

 

Is he real hard to bring down? Feels to me that most times when Washington gets the ball, he bends over trying to protect his knees and ends up on the ground.

 

I didn't see that. I saw what looked like several toddlers trying to bring down a grown man.

 

No question, he can truck over guys when he wants to. But I feel like I've seen multiple catches where he bends over, right after the catch.

 

I think he is just putting the dozer in low gear.

 

I'm surprised Forgotten 1 hasn't commented on the thread name. BTW, I like the TE's on the roster, time will tell how it all materializes with all the OL shuffling and QB abilities to find them. Stay healthy Mt Washington.
