Honestly who cares about Howard or Allar right now?

All the more reason we should not christen Drew Allar as a backup just yet. Should he show these same level of inconsistencies in Year 2, that will be for much greater concern. As it stands today?! Drew Allar for the Pittsburgh Steelers is world's apart from the 2025 Drew Allar from Penn State.

Time will tell if Drew can tap into his tremendous potential. That said, confidence was something he desperately needed to regain after how unceremonious his end was in Happy Valley. Safe to say he has it back though how much is anyone's guess.

    Have to wait and see.

That was the biggest thing that stuck out when looking at the final roster. We are paper thin at safety and that spot could have been available if we just put Howard on IR

We didn't need it to get Dart. Dart was there and we passed on him.

What has Dart shown that he's a franchise QB, he's in the medical tent a few times every game .

Yeah, I just mentioned the Watt trade thing because his contract is an albatross at his production level from last year. If he doesn’t turn around and pump out 12+ sacks this year, it’s going to look like a really bad deal. We could’ve traded him at high value and gotten the QB and Harmon. Obviously, we could’ve just taken Dart instead of Harmon anyways

I don't get the hype around Howard. He's not an NFL QB. He's not any good.

Sure give up on a quarterback that you think has potential

And add a safety who at 53rd on the Steelers makes him about the 1680th ranked player in the nfl

    Sure

I think our QBs played as expected for the round they were drafted in.
    ARod 1st
    Mason 3rd
    Allar 3rd
Howard played like a 6th rounder

this time it worked out very predictably

(don’t jerk my chain and get me started on Kenny Pickett) LOL

Pittsburgh fans and our back up QBs….

many Pittsburgh fans still think Mason and Kenny didn’t get a fair shot.

If . You are freaking correct. If those 3 hit big time it will be an awesome draft.

Outside of Ohio state fans, and Steelers fans , I don't know who thinks Howard is all that. I seen Qb this preseason that have been cut from other teams already that look as good , or better than Howard, and please remember before preseason I thought that Howard was the guy, and Allar would be the man I didn't like.

Yeah, I'm not so sure he'll actually split reps with Howard. I have faith that McCarthy, the supposed QB guru, can tell the difference between the two and will make the correct choice as far as reps are concerned. Maybe I'm wrong though. I also wonder if he just really thinks both can potentially be developed or he would have sent Howard packing. Who knows?
