Welp, scratch that. Steelers finally did the right thing. Lowry cut. Blame Rudolph.

Damn that Mason Rudolph is single-handedly destroying this roster! :lolol:

I would say if you keep a 42 year old Qb, and bring in other vets at other positions you are wanting to win today

No. I think keeping a third TE or a fourth safety is more important though. I don’t want to have to scour the waivers at a position because of injuries. We just don’t need 4 QB’s.

We Steelers fans overvalue him because of a 3 game stretch. It was a great stretch, but he’s not viewed as a high quality back up outside of Pittsburgh. At his highest value he got a one year contract worth less than $3 million bucks. He’s a lot closer to Dean Lowry than you think.

What we needed to do was ship Watt out before last season to get a first round pick. Could’ve used that pick to get Jackson Dart.

We have a good roster. We’re just not tanking. If we wanted to tank, we could just drop Rodgers and play Rudolph for 8-9 weeks until we’re eliminated from playoff contention.

were caught in between having a quality roster and needing our QB of the future.

    Not really

Allar was injured and was expected to drop because of this to the 4th or 5th round

Steelers had 3 3rds and took him with the first

Many people thought he was over drafted

No, he was playing the odds believing that Drew would still be there b/c other teams didn't think as highly of him, and it worked out.

Jackson Dart was there waiting when we drafted last year but we passed him up for Troy F.

Allar dropped because everyone knows who he is. A kid with all the tools and the size, but has never shown he is an NFL QB. MM didn't draft him to be a backup, he took a gamble on a kid that he could mould him into what he looks like he should be. We heard it through camp, it's a full reconstruction of his game. He's boom or bust, a potential franchise QB or a wasted third round pick.

FTR, I did not like the pick and every time I saw him play in college I was unimpressed. However...I'm not known anywhere as a QB guru, and I have seen often enough in sports where a coach will acquire a player because he saw something and then help him become much more than he ever was. As a Torontonian, I saw the Jays acquire Jose Bautista from the Pirates in 2008 because a coach saw something in his swing, and he went on to hit 288 homers, 766 RBI, and an .878 OPS in 10 years.

I still have not heard who was higher on the Steelers Draft board Carson Beck or Drew Allard. These were the 3rd and 4th QBs to come off the board.

The Steelers had no business taking a 1st round QB this year and went with either the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft. Bang for the Buck Baby!!!

I have ZERO confidence in Will Howard's ability to ever develop into a starting NFL QB.

So MM was gambling with a talent he thought should go much higher? I don't think so. If you see your man, you go get him.
