Jones was raw coming out of college and only had one year of starting, he's another Pickett you can make all of the excuses you want. I doubt he amounts to much with the Cowboys.

Jalen Carter is a all-pro caliber player.Many o-line was bad against the eagles in 2024...Just look at the chiefs in the super bowl

The Steelers coaches have been terrible at developing offensive tackles (really, offensive linemen in general). I just hope Troy and Max don't end up becoming busts as well.

 

He's decent at LT but absolute trash at RT. No way he was going to pull the swing tackle ole playing like that on the right. Hell I'm not sold on Fautano playing exceptionally well on the left right now either, but at least they're moving him back to where he was best in college.

Good riddance. Steelers haven't had an above average LT since Villanueva.

 

The Jones trade plus Johnson gives us approximately enough draft capital in the first round to move up from 15th to 13th

I don't think he was ever any good. I'm surprised we kept him this long. yes better coaching would have improved him more, but you could say that about every OT.

 

As a potential contingency plan should neither Allar nor Howard develop well enough to be considered worthy of starting in 2027. That is the part few are realizing about the trade. Draft Capital is good to have but not the end all be all. Developing players is what makes those picks count.

 

I don't see it with Troy being a bust. Troy just needs time to adjust. Max is an unknown. So far so good. Still need to see more.
