Lol. I'd bet any sum of money that they're not going to cut Allar. He's shown as much or more than Howard in my opinion. It's not like any of the QBs have lit up the place, especially when the OL decides to go into turnstile mode.

I understand. I would rather keep QBs with grit who can win games, rather than those who look good and need development.

We need to forget about his past
    And
    Have patience to develop
    Allar
He does have a higher ceiling
    Than
    Howard

Unless Drew Allar gets arrested for knocking off a bank tomorrow, he's not getting cut by the team.

I have no idea where some people come up with their thoughts on things.

Rudolph is 8-6-1 for the Steelers. Overall regular season he is 9-9-1.

I would still roll the dice on the young guys. I just think their highs can be higher than Rudolph.

I'd rather try to develop a long-term franchise QB than waste time with a guy who can win a few games playing not-to-lose football.

If I felt like all the pieces were in place right now for a serious run at a ring and all we needed was a solid backup QB to win a game here and there, then fine, Rudolph is that guy. The Charlie Batch to Ben Roethlisberger. But Rudolph isn't as good as Batch and the Rodgers of today isn't as good as prime-time Ben.

That's the only argument I see for Rudolph. Is if the team feels there's a very good chance to make a run at a ring and they need a guy who can go .500 when Rodgers goes out with a non-season-ending injury.

I do not believe in development. Drew Allar was never a volume passer or runner who could carry the offense with his arm and/or legs. To develop that, he needs years of starting, years! I am not interested in that.
Now, under Tomlin, who loved to run the ball and limited the passing game, Allar would be in a great situation with the Steelers to develop as a complementary starter to Tomlin's running game.
WCO offense however requires a QB who can carry the offense and has grit. Allar did not come from college ready for that, and I am not interested in watching his "development." I am interested in winning the Superbowl with QBs who already have that skillset. Those who deserve to be on a team chasing a Superbowl.

But I'd have to say Allar looked better than Howard this preseason. You wouldn't cut Allar and keep Howard if Allar is better.

I doubt if even the Browns would be that foolish.

Stranger things have happened. Think about Baker Mayfield, drafted by a dysfunctional organization, cut, bounced around for a few years, and now? Very similar to MR's NFL tenure.

Of the 3 back up QB's Rudolph is still the worst moving around in the pocket.

I don't see that getting any better, especially behind this line.

Baker Mayfield was the #1 pick in the entire draft, he always had great potential. Heck he played flawlessly in a playoff game to beat us. Mason Rudolph is a career backup who never had the potential to be anything but that and he is content with that too.

I never underestimate the Browns organization's stupidity. Look at the contract they gave to a guy who practically has his own category on PornHub.

Agree, though; cutting Allar is foolish and insane. If Howard is hurt, they might try to get him on the practice squad.

    In all fairness
Mason just as young as qbs coming out of college now
    :roflmao::shrug::roflmao:
My Gamecocks had a running back
Last season that was in his 8 season of college football

    Comparing
    Mayfield
    To
    Mason?
    Not even close
    Mayfield a bona fide starter
