Some of it is legit. Most of it is people making excuses, in this case for Fautanu.

    To some it is.

    For me it is not.

Clarity is about understanding perspective. That is what makes aspects we don't understand "clear".

Moving OL around from their college positions happens everywhere in the NFL.

Guys can be good enough to play LT in college, but don't have the size to be a LT in college. If they're still good OL, they get moved to G.

If guys like Dunker had to stay at OT because that's what they played in college, they wouldn't be in the NFL. And we'd have guys who weren't as good playing G.

College coaches are paid to win games for their program. Not to develop guys at the positions they'll play in the NFL.

Not sure if this is true and I don't have the data...but earlier in the offseason, I think I heard someplace say (probably Terrible Podcast or Scouts Eye since I listen to those pretty consistently) that MM's teams in the past seemed to be mostly about getting the best 5 OL on the field rather than being strictly about positions / sides. My guess is that this is pretty common in the NFL. If you had 3 guys good enough to be starting OTs on your NFL team, you're probably moving one of them to G. If you have two guys that are good enough to be starting LTs, you are going to move one to RT if that's a need.

But with bad protection Rodgers may. I will wait until the Jets game is over. If Fautanu gives the Steelers another bad performance at Left Tackle ...

Some people are just hedging their bets.
1st they say it was terrible OL coaching, and then it was stupid to move the guys into different positions, and now so they can't be wrong............
Oh well it will take time to unlearn the other. LoL

    This 100%.
You are not leaving one of your top 5 lineman on the bench just because you are afraid to play him at a different position. You aren't doing that for any of your players.

All our OL need to play better, they have an ancient QB back there
that is not going to be! Able to scramble. Block for Christ's sake.
    This isn't rocket science.

Whoa whoa whoa, this is entirely too reasonable a position.
