Help me out here I seem to be missing something:

You think Allar’s a backup quarterback who should be starting in the league

But you don’t think they should not have taken a starting quarterback with a third round pick

Instead you think they should have spent a third on a player who was available as an UDFA and currently 32 GMs don’t want

Incorrect. He worded it wrong. He thinks Mason should be starting and deserves a 3 year window to start that he was never given. The rest you were correct about. He wanted Pavia over Allar and now, even with hindsight, is still doubling down on that. I'm assuming from his post that every player with an N are players he doesn't like. Odd duck that one is.

 

I think something is wrong with his Medulla Oblongata.

I noticed you had Gabriel Rubio as one of your few Ys. Did you even know who Gabriel Rubio was before the Steelers drafted him? As for me it took me a little while to find him as most people didn't even have him listed on their 7 round mocks.

 

Iheanachor - way too early to tell. But I like what I have heard in his limited reps in camp.
Bernard - yes. He hould overtake Wilson. Wilson triggers to beat press coverage.
Allar - very early but looked good in his first game. It’s a lot different against vanilla defenses.
Everette - yes looked fast, athletic and physical.
Dunker - mauler. Look or ward to when he starts.
Wetjen - I don’t know. I tink we took him way too early. He is more quick than fast in my mind. He needs to be more than just a returner.
Nowakowski - ok. I thought he was gonna be thicker. He needs to produce in the run blocking.
Rubio - yes looked great in the first game.
Jennings - yes - looked fast and physical.
eli - great story but kind of redundant to Wetjen and they were playing him like a traditional rb which he is not.

 

This... there's no way to grade a draft class until the rubber meets the road for at least 3 seasons. Preseason has shown us many times, that even good performances from players do not translate to regular season success.

 

Yes I did know Rubio. I follow the draft and grade all prospect available on main websites who are eligible. He did not test well but for a seventh

 

How did Pavia test?

 

As a trivial pursuit question I got “where is the medulla oblongata located”? I was playing with a whole bunch of doctors and nurses. After coming up with a logical guess I blurted out “Italy”. I quickly realized I was wrong.

its not only the age, for some of us its the mileage too

 

As we get closer, I am still pleased with the draft class overall. there is still a case to be made for every pick making the team. Typically, by this time there is a stinker or two.

ETA: I could be wrong and if I am someone will correct me, hell, there's a good chance someone will correct me even if I am not wrong.

Very good class overall

Iheanachor------ won't start right away, but has sky high potential

Germie Bernard---- another with sky high potential... perfect #3 for this season

Drew Allar ---- wasn't impressed here and thought we took him way too high, but he's worth trying to develop

Daylen everette---- my initial thoughts on him were that his ultimate position would be at FS..... it may still be, but for now, he's been showing out at CB and may be the best pick of our draft

Gennings Dunker. ---- I personally wanted Emmanuel Pregnon as a plug and play guard over someone changing positions and developing, however, dunker's potential is high and his temperament is reminds me a lot of Mason McCormick

Kaden Wetjen ---- major reach, but worth the risk

Riley Nowakoski---- only draft pick with a guaranteed #1 position on the depth chart as he's the only fullback on the roster.... after seeing him, I realize we don't need another

Gabe Rubio. ----- biggest sleeper pick and looks like a major find

Robert Spears-Jennings ---- 2nd biggest sleeper and has a very bright future

Eli Heidenreich ---- will be on the practice squad, but is an exciting chess puece

 

Maybe it's only preseason. However, FOUR of our draft picks have scored a TOUCHDOWN in the NFL. Scoring a touchdown in the NFL is very difficult, even in preseason.
