    The Los Angeles Lakers are being sold for a record-breaking $12.5 billion. The franchise is being acquired by venture capitalist Josh Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger

    WOW.

    That is an insane amount of $$$

    I keep saying it, money ruining sports. I don't follow the NBA anymore but if I had to own a Pro Sports franchise it'd be a BB team. I think it has the fewest amount of players you have to pay.

    Not an NBA fan but did attend a few Lakers games over the years (gift tickets always). I remember attending a game in 1996 (I think) right after Shaq signed with LA for $120 million or so and general admission parking at the LA Forum more than doubled over night from $10 or so on to $25. 30 years ago! It's now around $50. Insane.
