Is the Steelers future HC already on the staff?

I’ve read a lot about Arth when he first came onto our staff. He was Peytons BU in Indy and Peyton really put him through the paces and very demanding that he know everything in helping him prepare. From there Arth just continued diving into the coaching experience.

Arth is a possibility and I also think Patrick Graham could be a future HC if the Steelers defense greatly improves.

I think Arth could find himself a gig at the college level again, or an OC very soon somewhere.

I could also see Patrick Graham as a HC candidate soon especially if he oversees a rebuild these next couple of seasons.

Outside of those two I'm not seeing many young minds who could rise through the ranks. But hey, who knows.

Does that mean they would be on McCarthy's coaching tree?

    Sorry, I'll shut up now.:icon e wink:

Since some fans want to give Cowher credit for Arians, I guess that means Arth would be a part of Tomlin's coaching tree ;).

More likely he leaves for an OC job.

    Who knows?

I would prefer rolling the dice on another young coach like Cowher and Tomlin.

But if MM fails to find us a QB (a very difficult thing to do), maybe someone like Arth can do that.

Wouldn't Arth be to blame also if Howard or Allar don't develop?

I guess...if we're into blaming people for not doing things that are really, really hard to do. Especially if we continue to do our best to end up with the 20th pick in every draft or whatever.

As I said, my preference would be a young guy with a clean slate so they can mold him into the culture here.

I think it's pretty odd that we went with MM this time. But I hope it works.

Most likely, McCarthy is signed for 5 years but he could be in play after that if he does well as an OC.
