37 Days until Steelers vs. Falcons

Wow I had completely forgotten about Preston Carpenter he was one of my dad's favorite players. You could line him up anywhere and he excelled. He made the Pro Bowl as a WR for the Steelers in 1962. He was before STD's time but Carpenter was one of the all time great Razorbacks.

John Perko was born in 1914 so a little before my time. He played on all of the teams name transition through the 30's and 40's. Was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Duquesne, was there when they became the Steelers and played during WW2 for the Pitt-Cards and the Steagles.

 

Bobby Waldron just always looked old to me sorry Bobby

He actually played 3 years in the CFL before coming to NFL then 10 with the Steelers

Minkah was awesome. A shame he couldn't finish out here but his best years were no doubt with the Steelers. Know it wouldn't happen but wouldn't mind seeing about nabbing him again in the future.

 

I was thinking the exact same thing and then I scrolled down to your post.

He looked like a walking Geritol commercial while he was still in the NFL. He looked old before he was old!

Earl Gros was a gigantic FB back when I was a kid standing 6'3" and weighing 220. He was as big as a lot of the lineman back then.

His son Quentin is having a solid career as a starting safety for the Rams.
