Heard the passing game looks the same as before (just kidding!). I don't really get the internet where I am at for much of the time right now.

Anyways....I see the internet is over-reacting to everything again.

Also, some really fresh takes and insights on Mike Tomlin in another thread. Awesome.

Clearly the Steelers are doomed as MM runs camp super soft and lets Aaron Rodgers run amuk on McAffee.

The league gave McCarthy a layup the first game at home against the Falcons. The Falcons just signed Cooper Rush off the scrap heap because they don't have a healthy QB on their roster. Tua is out with an undisclosed injury and Penix might not be ready until mid season. If the Steelers lose their home opener to Cooper Rush then it is going to be a long, long season.

What an incredible hot take that's intent is definitely not to generate clicks by being controversial.

Even if McCarthy is awful,it was still time for Tomlin to be gone....Being stuck in the middle is the worst place to be in sports

OTOH, should we be worried that a rookie is shutting out the two best edges.....? :confused1::confused1:

To the shock of no one.

Worst contract in NFL History and easily one of the worst trades in NFL History. Will Anderson Jr. by himself has proven to be worth every single penny that the Texans have paid him.

    Nope.

Watt and Highsmith will be fine. Max Iheanachor's development is the item that is worth ongoing discussion. Still stand by my critiques of him but his overall athleticism was something that I graded as among the best of the OTs; second only to Kadyn Proctor.

For Max to not just look like he does at 330lbs but move that way as well?! Those types of OTs don't come around often.

Defeating speed rushers will be no different than breathing for Max as he continues to develop. From a pass protection standpoint, the foundational requirements are largely there. Accuracy in his strikes and more consistency in his leverage is where his game needs to evolve in the pass blocking domain.

    Drew Allar’s First Five Practices:

Every day it seems Drew Allar is making one or two big-time throws. He’s putting the ball between defenders 10-plus yards down the field, dropping it into open receivers on deep posts or go routes, or firing fastballs to the open man for touchdowns. His 30-plus-yard back-shoulder throw to Perry was impressive, as were the big-play strikes to Hurleman and Burgess. The accuracy on these throws looks solid, and he’s completing them with good anticipation releasing the ball at the right time and into the right spot .Allar appears to be growing more comfortable with each practice. This isn’t a one-day flash. He’s been producing these plays for several days now. A few key takeaways stand out

    Key points:

Perry, Hurleman, and Burgess are all likely on the bubble and could be cut. Imagine what DK Metcalf and Wilson receivers with far greater ability to get open and finish catches could do to make Allar look even better.

Drew has elite arm talent. That arm is special. I’d put it on par with the top-10 arms in the NFL right now. It has both range and velocity, letting Allar throw the ball past, over, or between defenders before they have time to react. These throws come with surprisingly little effort.

His Footwork progress. His ability to correctly set his feet has clearly improved since May. As a 22-year-old rookie, this is still a work in progress, but the progress itself is what matters most right now.

I haven’t seen every single throw, of course. Some have been off-target, and there was one interception on a tipped pass caught on video. Still, the number of truly bad balls (tips or interceptions) has been low. Based on the first five practices, Allar looks a little further along in the college-to-NFL transition than most people (myself included) expected. I’m giving him an A- for this stretch of camp. That said, practice is practice. I’ll wait to see the preseason games where everyone is competing to make an NFL roster before going any further.

It's early but some people were quick to write Wilson off as a bust.

Nah, I would be more excited if we found another good OT.
