Last time Spain lost, like 35 games ago, the USA beat them.

They could meet again and USA could have a chance to give them first loss and knocked out.

There’s your script with some big entertainment.

Not sure I agree with that penalty kick. It was a weak call IMO but Ronaldo made it no problem and it's 1-1.

IMO Croatia got ripped off. I'll be in Croatia in Sept. and I'll sympathise with them.

3 more games today then on to round of 16.

Does soccer give out assists? Most major leagues officially track them. An assist is usually awarded to the player who makes the final pass or cross before a goal is scored. That said, in my opinion, soccer should also award assists for key passes or headers inside the box that directly set up a goal.

The game can feel pretty boring at times. Too often you only get about 30 seconds of real, exciting action in a full 90 minutes. Meanwhile, guys flopping on the ground trying to draw yellow or red cards waste far more time than actual than the " Exciting Action " I say take that player’s man card!:smiley1:

If teams took more shots on goal, the sport would be way more watchable. Right now, too many matches end 1-0 or 1-1. Those are the two most common final scores, happening roughly 20% of the time. They should also rethink the offside rule to make it less restrictive and allow more substitutions so players who get a rest can re-enter the game.

Look at American men’s sports: We’re #1 in the world in NFL football, basketball, and baseball because we focus on them. We’re even #2 in hockey — we’ve won Olympic gold, after all. But soccer? It’s different. Still, heading into the 2026 World Cup, the U.S. looks like one of the top 8 teams in the world. We’re odds-on favorites to beat Belgium and advance to the quarterfinals.

I must say the skill level team has gone up over the deceases.

It would have been cool to play England on July 4th.

Morocco moves on. I was pulling for our northern neighbors.
