Round of 32 doesn't start until June 28th. Damn final not until July 19th.

I know nothing about the sport but I think if USA makes it to the "sweet" 16 that will be a great feat. It would be cool to make it since we'd be playing on July 4th, America's 250th BD.

Germany dominated the Ivory Coast but had to really turn it on near end to win. You could tell Germany was much better team.

 

Seems to me that there is a lot of faking in soccer. Instant replay shows it was a little tap but the player goes down like his leg is broke. Then they lie on the ground moaning and groaning but a lot of times the Ref totally ignores them and they get back up.

It's a strange world. I'm watching Iran/Belgium match. A country we are at war with is playing soccer in Los Angeles.

 

USA has made the top 32. Kind of a meaningless game on June 25th. Which is good for the East Coast since it is at 10:00 PM.
