The guys will answer a question or two without really making eye contact or seeming to actually interact. But that's as much as they're willing to put forth. Cool thing about the place is there are several tables set up to play on, and a large variety of games on the back wall for you to sit and try out if you wish.
I'll look for the titles you suggest. We have really gotten back into game night.

There used to be a comics and games place near me that was a very cool hang. Two brothers owned and ran the place. They were both really into all the stuff they sold and were willing to talk for hours about anything you wanted to discuss. They would even talk NFL, or NHL if you wanted.
That's the interaction I was used to and guess I expected from this new place. More than a little disappointed with how 'cliquish?' it feels instead.

They are probably not trying to be that way, but they have grown up differently than many of us. I find a lot of younger people are like this. It's almost like they are thinking, why are you asking me, just look it up. LoL

That sucks. The one near me has managed to hire a few folks that seem to tolerate human interaction rather than run from it.

I'll try and remember to check back here and talk more about games.

Splendor
There's a version of Catan for two people
Exploding Kittens
Any of the "escape" from games. I think there's at least desert and island.

After that, if you're fortunate to have a local store, ask them. They've almost certainly played them all.

I looked up games with island or desert. There is one escape a sinking island which seems to be competitive that looks interesting, and a coop game in the desert trying to build a machine together to escape before a sand storm buries everyone. Are those the games you play?

We went on a co-op games for two kick awhile back. A few of these are competition but these are the ones that are still in our cabinet, so we must've not hated them.

We've also enjoyed those murder mystery in a box games. But you can only play it once.

There is that. No denying it.

BUT....based on the clues in everyone's posts....we have all reached the age that if you are under like 35; it is annoying to talk to us. It sucks. We still think we are cool. And interesting. But...remember....don't trust anyone over 30. Whelp. I am well over 30 and everyone under 30 looks like a kid that is too young to be a adult.
