Exactly. I got a 80s Jackson that many have tried buying from me, but I keep it for memories, but I never play it out anymore because of that whole thing.
I never break strings, and I had one with a tremolo break 3 strings at the same time in the middle of a song. LoL

Speaking of guitar amps... I've had this Vox Valvetronix modeling amp since the mid 00's. I bought and sold some nice guitar amps over the years such as the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier, Carvin Bel Air 2x12 tweed combo and Peavey 5150II. But the Vox stuck with me for some reason. I always liked having access to several different tones instead of a one-trick pony. It's cool to have a Soldano, Marshall, Mesa Boogie or Fender amp tones. The Vox does this... and it's 50 watts, pretty damn loud for a combo.

Get one of these and you can make guitar picks out of your old credit cards.

LOL! I have a large gallon size Ziploc bag full of old credit and debit cards dating as far back as the late 90's. I never destroyed my old, expired or defunct cards... probably should have. I could make over 100 picks with that thing. :lolol:

Anybody do mods to their guitars or basses? I added Hipshot Xtenders to 5 basses which allow quick switching from standard to drop D tuning. I have an Ibanez Multi-Scale 5-string bass that I added an extender to the Low B string. I can drop it to Low A.

I've done many many mods on my guitars back in the day. From different saddles, different pickups, different tuners, different pots, and switches for the pickups.

I replace the pickups on all of my electric guitars after buying them. I've also modified the spring tension on my Floyd Rose tremolos.

Have any of you gents been able to master or even done versions of Mark Knopfler's Sultans of Swing? I used to go to a bar near Pasadena CA where a very pale thin guitarist we dubbed Frankenfurter could play the entire song note for note. It was amazing as is the original tune of course.

Hell no. I learned the chorus riff/chords, but never could nail the solo. Sh!t was too advanced for my average guitarist ass.

Hell... there's Dream Theater songs easier to play than Sultans of Swing.
