Who vets these players before they transfer to lucrative NIL deals at other
Colleges?Will NCAA punish Cincy being that they knew he may have gambling
addiction as early as August of 2025? Does Tx,Tech which paid lucrative NIL money
To him and others thinking they would run it back to college football championship.

 

Possibly. NIH and the Transfer Portal has ruined college sports for most non-elite big market colleges. I personally hate it.

Difficult to prove who knew what and when, even under oath if it came down to that.

 

It is the lawsuit brought by Cincinnati that may prove interesting.

The NCAA Transfer rules may say you can use the transfer portal to change colleges, but what happens if you have already signed a multi-year contract to play for a school for 2 years? Breach of Contract?

The Lawsuit: Filed in February in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Cincinnati alleges Sorsby breached an 18-month NIL revenue-sharing agreement signed in July 2025. The contract stipulated he would remain at Cincinnati for two seasons, or pay a buyout if he transferred early.
