What we found out two years ago was that the Steelers decided not to keep both and went with the guy with less attitude and less mileage on his body.

If they wanted him they could have kept him for the extra season without signing him to the 5th and guaranteeing two seasons and for less money

they did not have to use the 5th to not draft KJ

so the 5th still makes no sense and never will

They wanted to make Warren the starter as they believed him to be the better back and I doubt Harris would want to take a backseat to that.

Harris wanted more money, they gave him the opportunity to do so and he found out the league didnt think he was worth it.

They never started Warren over Harris. They gave Harris more snaps and more touches every season they played together. That tells you who they thought was the better back.

They moved on because running backs don't last long in the league, and Harris had a lot more mileage on him. As you just acknowledged, he wanted more money than they wanted to give him. Those are the reasons he was gone before last season. That is the conclusion that best fits the evidence.

By the way, take note that the guy who is supposedly playing nice just bragged about starting an argument on this very thread.

Im sure it became apparent to them just like many of us that Warren was the better RB and it made sense to roll with him moving forward. He was an UDFA who continued to improve his game each year until it became impossible to keep him behind Harris.

You act like no one has ever gotten promoted to starter because they ended up being better.

    This.

Mike McCarthy stated the mission was to find an AFC North QB for the 2026 Offseason. Within that same breath, he has also been on record in stating that Will Howard would be someone he would be willing to roll the dice on. There was an asterisk though; a QB would had a greater ceiling. Turns out that QB, as I stated during the 2026 NFL Draft Cycle and have been on record since 2024, was Drew Allar.

Now, whether or not Drew himself can put it all together remains to be seen. One aspect is for certain, the Steelers are being very proactive in ensuring Drew does have all the tools to give him the best shot.

That he was an UDFA is irrelevant to evaluating the type of back he was going into last season or now.

I act like someone who understands that if a team thinks a back is better, they will start him, give him more snaps, and give him the ball more. The Steelers did none of those things with Warren in 2024.

I'm happy to rehash this for the thousandth time because those facts are still on my side, but I'm not sure what Harris has to do with the 2026 Steelers. I think it is worth pointing out that I'm not the one who dragged this onto yet another thread, and neither are you.
