    This.

The whole aspect of "playing Guard is easier than Tackle" is a major category error in terms of assignments. For that matter, comparing OT to OG is no different than comparing a Boundary Corner versus a Slot CB; two entirely different positions all together.

As a Guard, the amount of space the player needs to move is decreased but the time to engage the defender is increased. Furthermore, Guards are considered the most powerful among the Offensive Line; most OTs lacking the ability to properly displace their opponents in the running game or even having the requisite anchor to absorb bull rushes in pass protection. As an OT, the amount of time it takes for the Lineman to come into contact with the defender is decreased because there is more space at the OTs disposal.

In short?! Not every Tackle can become a Guard. Either they are a Tackle or they will be a backup all their career. There are exceptions to every rule but those exceptions are so far and few in between.

    Ok man :lolol:

You created a whole argument I never made anyway. I never made any claim to who was better, just that they never had a competition because Moore said he cant play on the right side.

no it's a different skillset. some of it has to do with arm length as well. many teams move a guard to tackle when an injury happens because said player is more experienced overall. many reasons for it. many tackles move to center. arm length, movement ability. both have distinct abilities in the offensive scheme run by the team.

they did move both mccormick and fautanu to the left. makes sense.

i expect at least an injury settlement for jones or they wait and make a june 1 cut so they can split his cap hit to two years. i'm pretty sure he has to be active before they can do much with him.

cook to the right and anderson to the right to begin with. that should change quickly i would think.

Neither... Moore is a scrub and Jones is a bust.

Titans fans are heavily divided on Dan Moore, with many feeling the 4-year, $82 million contract was a significant overpay based on his poor performance with the Steelers, while some hold out hope that coach Bill Callahan can fix his pass-blocking issues. Following a rough start in 2025, many view him as a "Band-Aid" fix for the offensive line.

Actually Jones was steadily improving until he got hurt

By the posts to the contrary I’m amazed at how many people here truly don’t understand football

My view in Moore has always been that he’s a guy that you can plug in at LT and get credible, low end NFL starter play, but you’ll always be looking to upgrade from him at the first good opportunity. I expect we’ll see the Titans make a move next offseason to do just that, either via the draft or another FA signing.

I blame the overall lack of research and proper analysis of the individual more than anything. Moreover to the point, people tend to use others opinions as opposed to formulate their own. A shame really as understanding positions of the NFL is far more simple today than it was a generation ago.

In layman's terms?! People need to learn how to be leaders and not followers. Being wrong is all apart of the learning experience.
