Jones cant stay healthy long enough to make any contribution here, and the eagles didn't have any problem letting him go, evidently he didn't impress them very much in camp, we do have bad karma with keeping running backs healthy, it does seem to be a steeler theme song...

I don't know about ace in the hole, but I don't see this a bad move considering who they traded. Only upside on this trade for both teams.

That's funny, especially since Duce likely sent him our way.

I see it as a no win win for either side.. just another Teaberry shuffle. I just need a fix... a Steeler win tonight. :herewego:

Im surprised we did not try and negotiate for someone in fa like Michael turner? Mcgahee? There's a few more and then continue to see what Robinson can do until cuts are required.

I'm having mixed feeling on this. I need to read up on this move and its effects on this team as a whole.

My initial thoughts were NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Robinson. He was a OLB who was developing, would only play on ST or in emergencies due to injuries, but he was young and talented and with coaching the sky was the limit.

Jones, was a top 1st rd draft pick RB, size and speed but never realized his potential ( why) and has battled a lot of injuries and is now in his 6th yr ( old for a RB).

There are FA RB available so if Jones doesn't make the final roster this would be a very bad trade. On the upside, if he's really healthy he can be an asset with our new OL and blocking scheme. His skillset fits it and he had no OL in dallas worth a crap.

This also looks like Batch is gone and we now will keep Carter.

    It was a good trade..
Robinson was 3rd string ROLB with no more PS eligibility. It's important that we keep the guys with PS time because with our injuries we need guys that can bounce from the 53 to the PS. We have our new developmental guy in Alan Baxter too. I think Dwyer gets cut but that's just an opinion.

I just don't see Dwyer getting cut he's the only guy producing at the moment. They could be showcasing him for trade bait, but I just don't see that either. Dwyer is the only real option to carry the load at the moment. Redman is a situational guy/ back up at best same with the rest. Bell is the only other workhorse and he's injured.

I agree, Hell even a bigger younger Beanie Wells, he is just as hurt but if you are lucky enough to have a year where Beanie isnt hurt you could really score. This trade was like that show Barters, you give me junk, Ill give you junk, and we will both think we are richer for the move

Problem with Dwyer is he is not good enough to be a starting RB in this league. Redman either. Steelers know that, that's why they drafted Bell. He is injured, so they are bringing in someone else. Don't be surprised if Bell doesn't return that Jones makes his way into the starting lineup.

Pouncey's stupid hold didn't help matters for him for sure.

You're saying Pouncey is a bust? Is that your statement?

Dude how can you say that he's not a bust?! He had a hold tonight and got blown up on a play. I think that's your textbook definition of bust.

Players win some battles and lose some battles. Just because one or the other happens at times doesn't mean a player is a bust. It seems that some people have a difficult time putting things in the proper perspective.
