Paris is a beautiful city and all, but I really hated my experiences in France.

I don't mind if it counts as one of our away games, but if that takes a home game from us, that's a bunch of crap.

Away game this year. Ireland last year was a home game. They pretty much try to work it so teams with 9 home games host, and 9 away games are visitors. Except for Jacksonville.

I have done one romantic thing in my life

I took my wife to Paris for Valentines Day

    I think that counts

    We really enjoyed it there

I got some tapes (it was a while ago) and learned basic French and that opened a kindness from locals who didn’t think I was a rude American expecting them to speak English

Although 80% of them would switch to English just to stop me from butchering their language

I had the same response in Montreal

That was me when I was there in 1985. I saw people inside the Arc De Triomphe and couldn't figure out how they got there so I dodged through 12 lanes of traffic nearly getting hit several times. When I finally got inside the Arc I saw there were pedestrian tunnels that led you there from the sidewalk.

I think we're bout to have a run on years of playing abroad more often than not, and that's not figuring in Krafts proposal of all teams having at least one game a year abroad as part of the 18 game proposal. I can see is in Mexico in 27, ??? in 28, and Ireland in 29. Germany, Austria and Italy make a ton of sense and Poland would be a wildcard in the coming decade as a destination. I know the average football fan hates this, but this is the new norm and isn't going away anytime soon.

Missed opportunity years ago to have Da Bears with Da Coach Iron Mike Ditka and his bunch of Grabowskis play in Poland. Those Poles from Warsaw East (Chicago then had the second most Poles of any city in the world next to Warsaw but was surpassed by London in 2012 and some other cities in Poland since) could have made the trip then and visited the home land.

    I hate the timing

Steelers play in Ireland and I’m already booked in Switzerland

Steelers play in France and I’m already booked on an island

I wonder if I am getting any sympathy votes

France is more home to the Saints than us with that logo and New Orleans French Quarter and all that crawfish. Steelers should be total visitors there. Like the germans or irish visiting paris

I signed up to get the ticket information in June, so we’ll see what the prices are like. It’s actually a great time to go to Paris though. The summer tourists are gone the crowds should be manageable, the weather is usually still good and it’s only about a 2.5 hour flight.

Big Ben, Parliament! Shades of European Vacation.

Paris is no place for a married man. The girls there can get a man into trouble real quick. It’s expensive as hell, but damn — the food can make up for it. The French really don’t like Americans. They’ll talk openly about you right in front of your face in French, assuming you don’t understand a word. But in some cases the joke’s on them when you do. IMO, the men are extra whiny and the women are well you know ...

    IDK Joel

As I listed above I tried to learn French and did not expect them to speak English. I met nothing but polite people especially in little pubs away from tourist areas. What I did see was rude Americans walking into places and demanding the locals speak English.

Well, I’m talking about the main tourist sites in Paris, not the local pubs. These are not your fathers and grandfathers French people. They’re lousy allies and have been heavily compromised by Islamic influences.

    Sacré bleu!
