See what I mean by what I posted earlier. I don't even know who half of You guys watch, or like in college football, but I can now almost pick out the Ohio State, and Penn State fans from each other. This is what I meant by I wish one was from Arizona tech, and the other from New Mexico tech. Because it's going to be like this from now on. With neither side being able to look at it unbiased. LoL

As a HP Lovecraft fan The Thing That Should Not Be is my personal favorite. As soon as I saw the title of the song on the Album, I couldn't wait to hear it. LoL

I totally agree with that statement. I can remember pumping that album through our vehicles in 86, and 87 , and people yelling turn that devil music down. LoL. It's crazy how big they got, and when I think of all the people that now say they always listen to them , and I clearly remember people hating them. LoL I remember seeing them in 83, at a community College and there may have been only a couple hundred people if that many.

I didn't start listening to them until '87. My friend who was a skater had the Garage Days and Kill 'Em All tapes... and told me I would love this bass solo on Kill Em All and that I had to hear it. The rest is history.

So right after Master of Puppets came out for you. I had a friend that's older brother played music that turned us on to them when I was young. They were the same guys that I went, and seen them with.

Kind of a weird comparison. The criticism of Allar as a chocker centers around limited success against top teams. He like the list you mention shows great talent and is awesome against other tesms. Then you list NFL QBs who had limited success against top teams, thus are considered NOT winners until Stafford moved to a team with better coaching and talent.

Your argument supports the other side.

Aller or Allen? Very similar profiles as passers.

I told y'all my hope is Aller has nothing to do with Penn State versus OSU.

I WATCHED JOSH ALLEN IN COLLEGE AND THOUGHT BUFFALO WAS STUPID TO DRAFT HIM. But every criticism of Aller or praise of his ability makes me.think of why I thought Allen was a bum.

Heck Allen not only had nearly EVERY CRITICISM OF ALLER, dude was a LESS ACCURATE turnover machine. Aller is unquestionably a FAR SUPERIOR college passer than Allen.

    -------------------------------

Coming out of the University of Wyoming, Josh Allen was arguably the most polarizing prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft. While scouts fell in love with his 6’5”, 237-pound frame and "cannon" for an arm, his college tape revealed several significant flaws that made many experts view him as a high-risk gamble.

The primary concerns centered on his efficiency, decision-making, and level of competition.

    1. Extreme Inaccuracy
The biggest "red flag" for Allen was his completion percentage. In an era where elite prospects often completed 65-70% of their passes, Allen’s numbers were historically low for a first-round pick:
    • **56.2% Career Completion Rate: He struggled with ball placement on routine "layup" throws, often missing easy targets due to inconsistent footwork and "arm arrogance" (trusting his strength too much to bail out poor mechanics).
    • Lack of "Finesse": Scouts noted he struggled to take speed off the ball, frequently throwing "fastballs" when a touch pass was required.
    2. Poor Decision-Making and Ball Security
Allen earned a reputation for "hero ball"—trying to make a spectacular play every time rather than taking what the defense gave him.
    • Interceptions: He threw 21 interceptions in 27 games at Wyoming.
    • Processing: Some evaluators felt he lacked a clear "plan" post-snap, leading to late throws across the middle or risky heaves into double coverage
    3. Struggles Against Top Talent
Detractors pointed out that while Allen looked like a superstar against smaller Mountain West schools, he often struggled when facing Power 5 defenses.
    • The "Big Game" Slump: In games against Iowa, Oregon, and Nebraska, his production dipped significantly. This led to fears that his physical gifts wouldn't translate once the speed of the game increased in the NFL.
    4. "Trait" vs. "Production"
There was a massive divide between what Allen could do and what he actually did.
    • The "Triangle Numbers": He had the size, speed, and arm strength that scouts call "prospect porn," but his actual college statistics were pedestrian compared to peers like Baker Mayfield or Lamar Jackson.
    • Supporting Cast Debate: Supporters argued his flaws were exacerbated by a "laughably bad" supporting cast at Wyoming, while critics argued that a truly elite quarterback should be able to elevate those around him regardless of the conference.

Allar and Allen both suffered from bad coaching and lack of receiver talent in college.

But have elite arm talent and size, with flaws that are FIXIBLE BY COACHING.

Judging what Aller can become, when something like "bad footwork" that can be fixed is crazy. Taking a shot in the 3rd is worth the risk.

There is no guarantees true. But imagining that it is impossible for him to become a franchise QB because he has fixable flaws is insane.

There is no reason to think it is impossible for Aller to end up being Josh Allen minus his elite running ability.

If coach can create that he has the clay to mold it in Aller. Mike M needs to EARN HIS MONEY.

I thought Howard was a bum before he went on that run, but that run was super impressive.

He has two things going for him over Allar…

He is a better runner, and although his arms isn’t as strong he is more accurate on short to intermediate throws.

People could see the talent in the Qb’s i mentioned. Does Allar show great talent? Doesnt seem like it when people mention hes laying eggs against better competition. You would think the talent would be evident against stiffer competition as well.
