All those guys you mentioned made more money than Mason, also Mason had been here for years. We are talking now two Qbs that haven't played one single game in the NFL. We shall see, but I've seen this throughout the NFL for many years. I just hope that it's a real competition that's all, and I promise I have no favorite.

The money is peanuts compared to each other for a qb. McCarthy also said it he was picking Howard would not have lasted to the sixth round.

The key here is that it works therefor they must have done what needed to be done. The old saying, if it's stupid and works, it ain't stupid.

An interesting article from CBS Sports.
    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/drew-allar-steelers-2026-nfl-draft/

One thing the author, did which I like a lot, was to list "the traits most closely associated with quarterbacks who successfully graduated to the NFL." That is using AI as a tool, rather than just taking it on faith that the black box should make all the decisions for you.

"One theme emerged repeatedly. The quarterbacks who transitioned most successfully weren't always the ones with the biggest stat lines or the strongest arms. The model consistently rewarded QBs who moved the chains, had meaningful starting experience, and showed they could function when things weren't perfect around them."

That doesn't mean Allar will make it in the pros, but he has the traits to make it more likely (than if he didn't have those traits).
It helps explain why some of us are so hopeful that the team is giving him time to rebuild his fundamentals and start a new learning curve with a much higher ceiling.

Rudolph is considered one of the worst backup in the NFL,so maybe this is time to trust the young players more....
