Hope Allar follows in the footsteps of that other #16 in the 3rd.

Exactly, and it's not a coach thing either because these were from many different coaches, and OCs that have had success with other Qbs.

I had them as successful. I only counted the guys who couldn't stay starters, or were quickly out of the NFL on that list.

Need to draft Arch or one of the several potentially good QBs next year. Next year's draft will be a good QB crop like '24.

You do realize that if You actually count the 1st round picks that didn't win a SB with the team that actually spent the 1st round pick on them that there are more Qbs beyond the 1st round that has won a SB. I mean there are a few first round picks on here that didn't win until they were on their 3 team, so that means that team didn't give a 1st round for them, or as You would say, they were castaways, which You have said You don't want.

    WTH?

Trent Dilfer and Doug Williams didn't win a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. Steelers are doing this in reverse...taking Super Bowl winning QBs...Wilson and Rodgers and getting quick wildcard exits! :roflmao:

There are a lot more than that. What I'm trying to say is if a Qb didn't win a SB till their 3rd team , then saying it was because they were a 1st rounder shouldn't really count. The team they won a SB with didn't spend a 1st round pick on them.

Wouldn't limit to only the winners. How about any QB that made it to a SB? Marino, Tarkenton, Kelly. You have to be pretty damn good to get there or at least have a competent team supporting.

That depressed me a little after I posted that. We tried to will a first round QB winner with the Pickett draft LOL. But it sure seems like you need a legit first rounder to get to the show. Here's hoping we can buck that system.

I need to add Neil O'Donnell to the list (and a few others missed) to give us a little more hope!

I’m hopeful. At one point Allar was considered to be a lock for a first rd pick. Then his last season happened which included a season ending injury and his coach since saying the offense didnt suit his skill set.

The talent is obviously there. Let’s see if MM can mold it.
