I was surprised Simpson went so high. What other teams were interested in him? Could the Rams dropped down and picked up an extra draft pick and still got Simpson later? Missed opportunity?

Terrible choice for the Rams. Stafford is the reigning league MVP and has at least 2 or 3 more good years left. I have no idea why they drafted a QB that might not play for 3 years.

The Rams played that very poorly.

Unlike the Steelers FO, LA's FO isn't willing to wait a decade, after their last franchise QB, before getting serious about a replacement. Will Howard screams backup and Drew Allar screams poor man's Anthony Richardson with less athleticism. The Steelers wasted a 3rd round pick on a QB that has shown below average pocket awareness, processing, and leadership. What a dumb, major league dumb move. They should have taken Emmanuel Pregnon, the second best G in the draft behind Olaivavega Ioane, with Allar's pick. Then they wouldn't have needed to trade their 6th round pick to pick up a significantly less talented Gennings Dunker. Steelers hit home runs with their first 2 picks... crapped their pants in the third round with all three picks. I'd give the Steelers a D- on their value pickups for the entire third round. The only thing that kept them from a hard F is that Daylene Everette gave them a C.

The packers did it with Aaron Rodgers when Brett Favre was in town, and then with Jordan Love while Rodgers was still in MVP form...
We, on the other hand, waited 20 yrs to find Ben after Terry Bradshaw retired and now are struggling with the position after Ben...
But yet, everyone's hating on the rams choice

You never know who else was interested in him. The Rams figured they would risk losing him to a trade up from teams sitting in the late first or early second if they traded back at all. Maybe they were worried about the Browns second pick, or the Jets second pick? Maybe even us or a big trade up from the Cardinals.... I don't blame them for the pick if they liked him. I'm pretty certain he was going in the first round regardless. Just depended on who liked him. His peak was 13 and his floor was probably mid-late 20's. Why risk your guy for at best an extra third round pick or something like that?

Because a lot of people aren't sold on Simpson, he only has 15 starts and struggled at the end of last season.

Even better that he gets to sit and learn behind a great qb
