I don't disagree. Though, I don't think Allar wins with the Ohio State roster either...

Howard played some beautiful football during the playoff run. He completed 75% of his passes, averaged 288 ypg, and had a 8/2 TD/INT rate. He was VERY good when it mattered. Allar has never been good in big games in his career. It would be hard for me to imagine Allar rolling into high end games against really good defensive competition and putting up big games and winning it all.

won't will howard have good players around him in the pros too? those WR's don't just come up with the football on their own someone has to put the ball on them. allar had first round TE's two years in a row and linemen and RB's and defenders too. may the best QB win. we will see. you don't win on potential.

Well, he went from potentially being the #1 pick in the draft to a third-round pick because of performance and his injury. I saw it reported that he is losing about $30 million from that drop.

How is that not being accountable?

All the QB had to do was throw it up and let Jeremiah go make a play :hehehe:

This thread made me think the Rams selection of Simpson is even more interesting.

Because all these reports are describing a version of Matt Stafford with less field saavy and bad footwork. That plus anything else @ 13 seems a better outcome.

Back to the Steelers; this is the kind of QB pick I’ve wanted them to make since Ben retired. Draft the best physical traits and try and teach the rest.

I’m pessimistic it will work with Allar; but it was absolutely 100% the “right” pick.

Next step is to get Pittsburgh area biotech companies working on putting Howard’s brain in Allar’s body. Problems solved.

Talking about coaches saying he wasn’t coached properly
Nothing to do with his injuries or his deer in headlights play before injuries.
    Always someone else’s fault

The Rams selection of Ty Simpson does make sense from both a fit and future planning aspect. Matthew Stafford isn't getting any younger and the Rams will need to have a good contingency plan moving forward. That said, LA have some serious pending Free Agents in 2027; Steve Aliva, Kevin Dotson and Puka Nucua to be more specific.

On one hand, I do understand why LA made the pick. On the other hand, there are QBs in the upcoming class who possess similar processing, rock solid mechanics and mobility.

It's funny watching how a board full of Steeler fans seems to be pitting two Steeler QBs against each other by knocking one down.

Let's look at their individual upsides instead of building up one guy by tearing down the other. If they bust then we'll have plenty of time for that.

    Howard
    Good size
College success at two schools, including a natty
    Smart QB
    Quick processor

    Allar
All the physical tools including size, mobility, arm strength
Was never developed by a staff in his best interest
Was never in an offense or with the offensive talent needed to succeed
Despite everything around him not being up to par, still posted a 26-9 record with 61 TDs and 13 ints in the Big 10.

There's some promise in both of them, and I'd argue both bring more to the table than Pickett did, and he was a first rounder vs. a third and a sixth. This is a new era, full of plenty of unknown. For those who believe that the Steelers previously had an offense run by a string of incompetent OCs and a HC who limited them at every opportunity then the O should be improved just with any new staff.

People think this is a future pick being spent at #13 and it is but I think it is more than that. Stafford has a balky back, Im surprised he got through the whole season last year without missing time. Simpson if he is the real thing gives them the best hope of their season not being over if Stafford goes down.

So this is very much a pick made with it in mind of winning it all this season.

Section 18.B.iii of the standard rookie contract expressly prohibits brain transplantation, but there is a loophole that would allow a Vulcan mind meld if and when such capability exists.

Personally, among the Offenses that would suit Ty, Sean McVay was very high on my list. Very rhythmic but also very precise. Much like how Ty is. Ty needs to work on his throwing release, release speed and improve his overall pocket skills. Most importantly, dude needs to hit the NFL Weight Room.

Unless he is the second coming of Lamar Jackson, Ty is going to get beaten up like a pinata.
